Ohio State football: Noah Spence suspended for rule violation

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Ohio State sophomore defensive end Noah Spence has been suspended three games – including Friday’s Orange Bowl -- because of what the Big Ten ruled was the use of an unapproved dietary supplement, a high-level source at Ohio State told The Dispatch today.
“I was just disappointed that the appeal didn’t go through,” Meyer said after Ohio State’s rainsoaked practice this afternoon. Meyer held out hope Spence would be able to clear up the matter, and according to the high-level source, that was because OSU officials thought Spence had a good case to have the suspension overturned.

Ohio State sophomore defensive end Noah Spence was suspended for three games, including last week's Orange Bowl loss to Clemson, because he tested positive for ecstasy, his father told a TV station in Harrisburg, Pa., the family's hometown.
