I didn't have the opportunity to rewatch this match. When Bo was awarded the td and four nf, there was a challenge immediately after this sequence. I assumed the challenge was that Dudley should have been awarded a td in the scramble. Was that the case? If so, am I correct that if the call was overturned the match would have resumed from that point with no continuation for the reversal and subsequent backs.

Honestly, I thought it was a ploy to get Dudley a breather. I hate to be that cynical, but these challenges often do not make sense, take too long, and diminish one of the basic strengths of wrestling--endurance.

Thanks for the response. They really need to change this to factor in the continuation. Easily could have changed the outcome.
It would have made it interesting. Instead of up by 6, Nickal is down by 2 and on the bottom with time running out (at least I think I got that right).

Tough call on the continuation. You could put some ref subjectivity into the situation, but usually that works out poorly.

I thought there was a small possibility they might give the 2 to Dudley. I also think the "WOW" level of Bo's throw diminished the possibility of a reversal.

The thing about the breather is if you are in need of one and get one the impact is very short lived.

I thought it was a good challenge though.

My thought on the continuation is that you want to get the calls right. You see these challenges so many times in situations where the call could go either way in a scramble situation where both wrestlers end up with points.

Imagine the Dudley scenario where everything happened so quick. If the ref awarded Dudley the flash td and Bo the reversal and backs, is there a scenario where Wiscy's coaches could have challenged that their own wrestler never got the td (so as to avoid the backpoints)?
