Astros Fiers does it! No hits Dodgers. First win as an Astro. First complete game. 134 pitches. Doesn't need any great defensive plays.
Good for him. That Dodger/Giant race isn't over yet and the one that loses the division may not make the playoffs.
I have nothing against this pitcher or the Astros and I was rooting for him to get it but it looked like there was a big wad of something shiny and greasy on the outer end of the thumb of his glove, inside. It was glistening off the lights. Anybody else see this? Looked like a big glob of something slimy.
-edit-Looked at it again on some yt vids and I guess it was some glare shining on his glove. Looked like he had everything working tonight.

Great effort by Fiers but why are baseball celebrations so lame nowadays?? The players put theirs hands on each others shoulders and bounce up and down. They ripped off Fiers' shirt and poured stuff on him. Maybe I'm just getting old.
