Between gov wolf reccomemdation of no sports until 2021 and the ridiculous psu season ticket options I'm not having a good day. As a football coach and a dad to a varsity football player there is a somber depressed atmosphere here at the farm. If there is no football this will be the first August since 94 I won't have a whistle around my neck. :( my son is/Will be devasted as football is "his" sport.

One bright spot our conference lhac has voted to move ahead with football with a two week delay. Even though they had heard the govs press conference. I'm afraid that this will be short lived as the PIAA or the gov will officially shut it all down soon.

Talked with a friend/customer today about business. When finished with business, talked football. His son is a WR for a Grand Valley State. D-2 cancelled fall sports, and I could honestly feel the emotions over the phone.
From anger to extreme disappointment.
I feel for him and for you. Here’s hoping your league stays on course to get your season in this fall.

I guess the last few months of practicing and playing sports must have been where all the positive cases were coming from. They just didn't tell us to keep us in suspense.

On a slightly different note Susquehanna University is testing the waste water in every building for Covid. No word yet on what they will do if they find any.

It does suck and I feel for the kids who are seniors.....just sucks.

The kids are going to congregate whether there are sports or no sports just like they have been doing all spring and summer. I am all for some common sense social distancing measures but to cancel it is ridiculous. Absent a miraculous cure or treatment nothing is going to change by a January.

Have to lock up the kids. Keep them locked up.

It does suck. My daughter lost her senior track season in the spring. Alas, in the grand scheme it’s just a bump in the road. A lot of people have been effected in much worse ways than missing out on a season. Again, it sucks but it is not the end of the world.

Is a cure/vaccine really the standard? If we are to apply the same statistical standard of covid mortality to motorized vehicles we would not be driving!

I guess we could impose stiff penalties on COVID-19 for infecting people.

;)

It seems to be going in that direction but, and I hesitate to even mention the word, but if it goes like the Flu shot it will only be marginally effective so what then - lock down for the next 2, 3 or 5 years?

Its all about the science. The experts have this.

I'd like to see the PIAA thumb their nose at the governor and continue with their current plan, which he was ok with just a couple weeks ago.

maybe...if they can combine peaceful protest with high school fall sports, wink-wink at the people that get upset, we can call it a peaceful protest and Wolf will be leading the team out and busting through the paper banner!

So Maryland just had another record low positivity day bringing their overall positivity average to just over 4%. But when you watch the national news you can see that DC and Maryland have been put on as a hotspot. Something smells fishy about that.

Protesters are immune from COVID. I thought everyone knew that.

It's the kids we need to worry about. Not because they can get sick or it is dangerous to them. But because we need to keep them locked up.
