Notebook: PSU preps for OK State; Cael updates status of Alton brothers

no ...

during the 5 years to use your 4 years of college eligibility in D1, you must miss 2 years due to issues outside of your control (injury, family difficulties, etc.) Andrew wrestled as a true fresh, and went to NCAAs. He redshirted as a true soph. As a RS soph, he wrestled and went to NCAAs. As a RS junior, he wrestled but was out of the lineup by B1Gs and the NCAAs, as James English wrestled at 149 in both tournaments. As such, if he misses this entire year due to injury, he'll have only missed 1 year due to issues outside of his control, and as such would not be eligible for a medical redshirt.

Okie State is importing floor-level seats and raising the mat. Sound familiar?

Anyway, I'm interested in seeing how they will prevent fall-related injuries ... Safety rails? Warning track? Nets? Protective mats on the floor?

Elevated mat could be real dangerous for them, backing up like they do.

lmao ...

Chris Perry would be in a full body cast if they had employed that setup throughout his career.

To Okla. St. fans, I kid, a bit.

Tognetti, is their insurance agent. Or is he mayhem?

PSU at Oklahoma State

Make no mistake, there's no denying the magnitude of this weekend's matchup between Oklahoma State University and Penn State.

With the championship season looming, history and pride is on the line in Gallagher Hall. It may not be the NCAA Championships yet, but when collegiate sports' most storied program faces a new power, both teams will treat what happens on the mat as if a championship is on the line.

go Pokes !!!

Re: PSU at Oklahoma State

Nice article. Loaded with statistical information. Great history for the OkSt program.

Let me ask you a question though. How many conference championships and conference champs would Pokes have if they wrestled in the Big Ten? Comparing the SWC/Big 12 to the Big 10 in terms of depth and the grind is like comparing apples to oranges.

BIG dominance of wrestling is relatively new. The Big 10 was always good at wrestling but prior to Gable at Iowa the Big 8 was just as good and probably better in most years.
