NotPSU: "Freeh source materials" confirm the Curley File

Hey Ray! I'm still waiting for the "imminent" indictment and arrest of Rod Erickson that you predicted a couple of years ago. Is it still imminent?
It's getting closer every day, as I've just shown you.

I'd say Erickson's arrest is much more likely than a trial for Curley, Schultz, and Spanier.

The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they are turning... and the evidence isn't looking good for your side.

Got it..first, I stand corrected on "indication". Second, I get your points and was simply looking for clarification.

Thanks.

I agree that, in retrospect, the 1998 case was screwed up...but I understand why he wasn't charged. You and I agree that based on 1998, further process should have been put in place....you call it Indication, which was a notation that I was not familiarity with. But regardless of "indication", we agree that the clamps should have been put down on JS after 1998. And that has nothing to do with PSU but the authorities and TSM, who have really escaped the media's attention.

After learning about Sandusky's naked bear hugs and that he turned on the showers while Victim 6 was setting up the Polish soccer game -- well before the workout was over -- it was pretty obvious what was going on.

Then Sandusky coaxed the kid into the showers by saying "all the guys do it." That is a classic child molester/pedo overture that shouldn't have been missed by an investigator. Next, Sandusky admitted to doing it with other kids. There is simply no way that case shouldn't have been indicated and that Sandusky's access to kids completely cut off.

From that point, the cops should have investigated further and gotten the names of the kids who were hanging around with Sandusky. Victim 4 would have popped up then, so would have Victim 7..and possibly Travis Weaver. As Schreffler said, he felt there was enough to charge on lesser crimes.

With V6, V4, V7, BK, and Weaver, Gricar probably could have charged because a course of conduct would have been established.

Thanks....but lots of should haves, could haves and such in there. Its easy to see the lake from 20,000 feet, tougher when you are standing on the shore line. Remember, this was all before the Catholic Church scandal (which broke as a "thing" in 2002/2003). Regardless, a big mess.

In the 1998 case, John Miller and Jerry Lauro were standing on the lake's shoreline. Lauro asked him, "John do you see a lake?"

Miller responded: "I don't know. Do you see a lake?"

Lauro responded: "I don't know. That's why I asked you. Well, if you don't know, then let's ask the blind man over there if he sees a lake. I've heard he's an expert on these things."

Miller responded: "Good idea. I'll bring the blind man over here and let him look"

After that, Miller went to the blind man, and led him to the lake shore. He then said, "Blind man, do you see a lake?"

The blind man responded: "Of course not. I've lived here all my life and never heard of a lake being here."

And with that, Lauro and Miller were convinced that if a blind man couldn't see a lake, then there was no lake there.

Dude! You are back. Thanks for coming. You have made the world a better place just for being around.

But I digress.

Where's Big John, the guy you worship? (By the way, he still sucks at hockey. Completely horrible.) Where's Karen, your appointed stooge, you sexist bastard? Myers and Suhey, dumber than your guys, are long gone, of course. So many lightweights in their place.

Even Dandrea. He still is young enough to worry about his legacy, I hope. After all, this thing IS going to explode. He's still playing, but unless he is a moron, he sees his exposure.

Etc. Etc. So many people are going to be pulled down by this. And they will hate you.

Have fun, dude.

I would celebrate Rodney's arrest. Maybe then his undeserved name will come off the building.

laugh out loud you're a pisser Bob

Thanks...learned something new today.

However, we don't know if he was "indicated" do we? if he was, even if unofficially, the records were destroyed.
I also appreciated the discussion on 'indicate, founded'...
an article in the Voice paper ....

Supervisor charged with indecent assault of 3 girls
link:

http://citizensvoice.com/news/supervisor-charged-with-indecent-assault-of-3-girls-1.2013130

"Scacchitti acknowledged the county Office of Youth and Family Services had issued “a finding of abuse” involving one of the girls, but said Button appealed that finding. The office has issued no similar finding in the case of the other three girls, he said."

Under state law, Button may stay on as a supervisor until he is convicted of a felony.

The sting from stamping Rodney's name on the Creamery building hasn't lessened a bit over time. Which was a more blatant middle finger by the BOT to PSU alumni -- that, or Silvis passing out "WOUNDED LIONS" at a BOT meeting?
Or how about Ms. "Pearl Necklace" Peetz pontificating against the football "culture" that subsidized her field hockey scholarship?

WOW, I assume this must give confidence to the parents whose children are serviced by button's transportation service :(

Simply amazing.

A big middle finger, yes, but that will make it so much sweeter when that name inevitably comes down, and it will. When that day comes, that damned finger will be broken into a dozen pieces, and the last laugh will be ours.

Well, it's worse than that....let's just say a group of trustees went along with Fina's plan to focus the Sandusky case on PSU in order to deflect attention away from corruption that would have been unearthed if a real investigation of The Second Mile actually took place.

This is the infuriating thing - Fina and gang were the Public Corruption Unit of the OAG.

A charitable non-profit, sucking in massive amounts of cash, that was pretty much a cheerleader for Foster families - using FREE volunteer labor from the university - handing out trading cards to elementary school audiences and using that statistic as children "treated" - that's not making anyone's nose hairs burn with the stink of something odd and maybe publicly corrupt?

Top that off with the charity Founder targeting youth from the charity and abusing them.

And this was a football "culture" issue in what way, exactly?

Peetz, as chairman of the executive committee, said Freeh would have a presentation to explain his report and answer questions. Has that been scheduled yet?
You must have missed it. He spoke during public comments of a recent BOT meeting. He had a difficult time filling up his 3 minute pre-approved session, but he did exhibit an extreme amount of gesticulation and hand waving, with some obfuscation thrown in for good measure.

Ray, are there any federal investigation looking into Second Mile? How can anything ever be traced back to Second Mile with all the records gone/destroyed? Seems like Second Mile is the smoking gun...

Only two years of records (2001 and 2003) were destroyed -- apparently pertaining to Sandusky's travel expenses.. The financial records are still in tact because TSM had to submit them to the IRS and they also published an Annual Report that contained financial records. Obviously, they can't shred public records.

In scandals the rule is to follow the money....and that trail still remains.

Why 2001 and not 2002? Wasn't stuff shredded when the assumption was that the V2 incident occurred in '02?

I believe the operative word is MISSING -- not "destroyed." There is an assumption they were destroyed, but I believe the records were kept off TSM's property at the Automated Records Centre that is owned by former TSM Board Member, Michael Sullivan.

Not sure what the shredder truck was there to destroy however, the high probability assumption is that TSM was getting rid of stuff related to the scandal. Sullivan knows better than to destroy records that could be related to an investigation.....

...and word was that he was a bit on edge for a while after the scandal broke.

Hi Ray,

Off topic somewhat but I noticed that Sandusky's newest PCRA says that Alycia Chambers actually spoke to Schreffler on May 4 before Schreffler and John Miller interviewed V6 that evening (Schreffler had interviewed him alone around 11:30 that morning). I think you mentioned that you spoke with her...did she mention actually speaking to Schreffler? We knew she gave him her notes on May 7 but I wasn't aware she had direct contact with him the day the incident was reported.

She didn't mention that to me. I haven't had a chance to get to read the PCRA yet.

Just read that passage. It says she spoke to police, but doesn't say it was Schreffler.

Victim 6's mom first contacted the State College police force, so it is possible that Chambers spoke with the SCPD, not Schreffler. I'm sure if she had spoken with Schreffler, he would have documented it in his report.

As I said, I haven't been able to read the whole PCRA yet. I just got back from vacation late on Wednesday and was swamped at work.
