O-Hi Ya vs Ducks

Only that the implication is OSU is to trying to buy a Natty. Maybe they are, there is so little info who knows? I am a big Guardians fan. They are a great organization but cannot get past teams like the Yankees. There is a reason for that. I use that as a reference point.
I get that but as long as it's in the rules I don't care how it happens lol

The donors are not putting out $5 Million - $20 Million so that tOSU goes 9-3. They are paying for the national championship...... I thought that being a PSU Fan was a challenge. Learning that being a tOSU fan is a lot of work..... 3 weeks ago get Ryan Day out....now they are a sure pick to win the National Championship. I picked tOSU to win the championship. I have picked all 8 playoff games correctly so far....... but goodness I hope that I am wrong so that I can watch the totally ridiculous fan base from tOSU burn the horseshoe to the ground. if they do somehow win.....hoping that Day walks to the Jacksonville Jaguars.......

It wasn’t their day, but I kind of like Dan Lanning. Which is weird for me to admit because I feel like I should hate him.

I think Oregon is going to thrive going forward as CFB continues to evolve down the path it’s going, like it or not. They haven’t quite broken through that last hurdle yet but it feels like they are getting closer.

Ohio State has looked incredible in their last two since the Michigan loss. It’s like that loss did something to them mentally, what they are doing right now is what I expected them to look like all year when they assembled that roster. The media will be gushing on them all week - let’s see if they can keep this up when they face an equal team as a heavy favorite.

Lastly, I agree with the pundits that the seeding is goofy and should be immediately reevaluated. Oregon drawing Ohio State in their first game was a terrible draw. I’m not ready to throw away the 12-team format quite yet but my feeling is 8 is the magic number. No byes, top 4 get first round home games.

Just my two cents.

All fair but if anything it goes to 16 to eliminate byes--we'll never have less teams

The extra week is killing the top seeds. It's already tough not playing for almost a month, but the first game they play is against a top 10 team who has a chance to knock the rust off a week prior. Remember the old addage - the most improvement occurs between weeks 1 and 2.
Nonsense. More excuse making. Kirby trying to pass with less than 40 seconds to go in the first half down only 6-3 with ND getting the ball to start the second half with a QB making his first start in a playoff game had a helluva lot more to do with Georgia’s loss than the extra time off.

Watching Kirby Smart during games, he looks like a A&*hole. During his press conferences he come off as a pretty good guy and is actually a truth teller. His comment on the lay off hurting his team he mentioned that two of games had teams that were better than the others....assuming he meant us and probably Texas (although the closest game). He mentioned that he looked to Vegas odds and they were generally pretty close to what happened. He also mentioned that perhaps ND got an advantage playing, but they also lost their arguably best defensive player, when they lost their All American DT. Pretty good replies to a question from the press.

It takes time to knock the rust off after having not played for a month. Every single top seed started slow and fell behind against a team that had already knocked the rust off. If the games started much closer to the end of the season, like the NFL, I'd be more inclined to agree with you.

I said all along 8 is the number. #9 and lower have almost no chance. There is always a big difference between top two and 5-8. Nine is off the charts lower.

And not fair to give byes. If we are to determine who is best then should all have the same path.

Agreed--and, let's be real, the better teams were the lower seeds aside from Notre Dame but Georgia had a kid making his first start

This sums it up well

I guess it depends on your goal. Is it a playoff or is it to guess the top 8 and see who wins out of that group?

I favor a real playoff where every team that plays FBS football has a path to the championship. I know it is unlikely that a MAC, Sun Belt, or some other can win it all but I think they need a path. You have 10 conferences, so you take each champ and then add 6 at-large teams. It won't add any games. Seed them by committee and play the first two rounds on campus.

I just want Jacksonville St, Army, Boise St, Arizonia St, Ohio, Jackson St, Georgia, Marshall, Clemson and Oregon to all have the chance no matter how great or small.

I will always say that I know this will never happen because they aren't interested in a real championship. They want polls and committees to select teams and argue how much better a 3 loss SEC team is than any other team in the land. It makes for great fodder and keeps the money with the right conferences.

I agree - we will never go to less. 16 feels like too many, but it will eventually happen so we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll say this - I was pretty heavily against the 12 team expansion. I thought 4 was perfect. But now after going through a season with it and experiencing it I feel very differently (and, no, just because my team benefited this year). If you mock up what this year's semis would look like under the 4-team format compared to what we actually have and what was settled on the field, I think we're getting a better representation of objectively the best teams and not just a committee's opinion.
