GoPSUsports.com has an interesting feature on Jason Nolf's college life off the mat. You can access it at THIS LINK.

Question? Does his 4.5 GPA mean that he can receive academic scholarship money in lieu of athletic scholarship money, thus freeing up some money for a new recruit?

lol you would think you could pull together some sort of academic scholarships for that kind of gpa.

I'm damn glad he dropped Cornell as that was his original first choice. No doubt he had the grades.

Number is meaningless without more info. Some high schools use a 5.0 system (though that is rare). And a lot of schools give bonus pts for AP classes.

Still a very smart guy, glad to have him as a Penn Stater.

As far as academic money goes: it's next to impossible for incoming freshmen, unless specifically recruited for academics (such as diversity programs, the engineering Millennial Scholars program, etc.). HS grades are not considered once a college GPA is established.
