Read the post from takedown1988 in the FRL thread, and thought a separate thread would be of interest, I enjoy watching the action away from the mats (actual wrestling). There's so much to see. takedown mentions Nate Carr Jr.'s passion in the Lock Haven corner. And Mark Hall greeting Bo after "the fall" has already been mentioned.

Did you see other notable moments, away from the action, that are worth mentioning?

On Television
when zain is getting ready for his semi, I believe, he and casey were in the tunnel. I wonder what was said because Zain probably did not need any pep talks. Bonding moment.

Kind of my own moment but a few matches after Seth Gross won his title, I was standing in the area near one of the tunnels (the one with the 'red' carpet) shooting and saw right behind me Chris Bono and Jon Reader (assistant at SDSU). I congratulated Bono and they both lit up with smiles like it was still just hitting them what that win meant for the program. Jon Reader clapped me on the back and said "Thanks, man." I wasn't expecting them to be so thankful of a photographer congratulating them, so it was a pretty cool moment for me. Their reaction was as if I'd broken the great news to them.

Saw Suriano in the tunnel after his loss with a thousand yard stare. He definitely expected to win that match.

Also saw Adam Coon before the Snyder match pacing with his hood up, looking like the scariest human on the planet. Also saw Coon afterward in the tunnel, sitting on the floor, against the wall, visibly crushed. His coaches moved in and stood on either side of him, partly to console, partly so photographers couldn't shoot him like that.

Standing with the Penn State team after the last match was pretty great too, just enjoying the camaraderie as they waited to accept their team trophy. Hall was still in his own head a bit, probably thinking through the match, but he still smiled and talked with guys. McCutcheon, DT were there as well, along with most of the non-starters.

Watching the quarter finals again tonight.... after Meredith wins his match, he and Nickal slap hands as they pass back in the tunnel.

Also noted how much of a nut Manning was during the Cenzo - White match.

What session was it where Stoll was drawing criticism for his behavior? Friday am? I never did see what he did...

Manning is such a sour puss it is difficult to tell when he is exhibiting joy. All that jumping and yelling was Manning expressing delight and gratitude for the referee not disqualifying White for stalling. Considering the only step forward White took during the match was after each stop in the action when he could safely make his way from the stands back to the center of the mat for a restart, not DQing him had to take some serious mental rationalization.

I saw Tom Ryan at the Crown Plaza bar eating lunch with his family in between session Saturday--head in his hands saying " I dont think we will win this thing"

Sat am, Stoll threw his ankle bands at Kasper after getting headlocked.

2nd round against Hermida there was some shoving and Brands tried to get Stoll back to the center of the mat to shake hands with Hermida and was unsuccessful.
