Official Micah Parsons appreciation thread

He’s an incredible player and was lights out in our Cotton Bowl win. I do still feel that he did a real disservice to PSU opting out of the 2020 season so quick. He really could’ve changed the whole season and been a real leader. I guess you can’t argue with his decision as he ended up a first round pick and potential defense POY, but man he could’ve done some damage last year in a PSU uniform.

I recall a pre-draft video from some scout or coach talking about the only real issue with Parsons was his overall positioning on the field when he recognized the play. Something like he wasn't putting himself in the best position for circumstances then presented to him by the offense, which resulted in him sometimes getting blocked or having a bad angle missed tackle. He appears to have cleaned that part of his game up.

Appreciate what? Leaving early and leaving the defense in a disarray it STILL hasn't recovered from? My heart hurts lol.

Yeah. I could see appreciating him if you are a Cowboys fan. He really did the bare minimum he could as a PSU player.

WTH? He played two seasons and had a dominant 2019.
This is an exaggeration to the opposite extreme than the post you replied to. A few games, especially the Cotton Bowl, sure. But not the whole season.
Covid hit and he sat out to protect his draft status.
Agree about the draft, but I don’t believe tying in Covid with his sitting out is appropriate. There were photos of him traveling to Vegas with a couple past big name PSU guys.

2020 was a lost year and I believe he was advised to sit out by PSU.... he didn't need any more film on his game. His last 4 games were enough. It was a shame for us fans but it was the correct decision and I would have advised the same. He spent most of his time being tutored by Lavar out in LA. Credit needs to go to Lavar for prepping him really well for the combine and camp. Sit back and enjoy. I only wish Barkley was also part of a very good organization.

Bare Minimum...please.
Right decision my ass. Ask anyone on that defense from 2020 if he made the right decision.

Only rookie in last 20 years to have 12+ sacks, 50+ tackles and 3+ forced fumbles.

He lined up at CB on one play today. He took a step inside and Galloway leaked outside. He made up 10-15 yds and timed the play perfectly. Not many LB's can do that.
