Yep do the math trying to predict the records:Northwestern is going to be our downfall.
The tiebreaker should be Big Ten record of opponents not overall recruit of opponents, if not thats idiotic. It’s a really stupid tiebreaker. I like overall record and then strength of schedule of out of conference opponents.
Note that it's only Conference Games that are included in the tiebreaker.Yep do the math trying to predict the records:
Nebraska 6-6
Minny 7-5
Purdue 7-5
Illinois 8-4
Iowa 9-3
Wisky 9-3
NW 3-9
Based off the above:
Mich 20-16
OSU 23-13
PSU 20-16
NW could go 1-11. Nevertheless, OSU will win the tiebreaker.
Note that it's only Conference Games that are included in the tiebreaker.
If Northwestern could pull out the home game against Minnesota and/or Purdue, it would go a long way for us (Iowa also gets both of them at home and we'd really need them to sweep those two). We’re still likely boned. Need Iowa and Illinois to finish 1-2 in the west and northwestern to steal a couple games.
Just need to beat osu and um.

Overall doesn't work because it encourages teams to play garbage schedules like we are and Michigan is.It’s a really stupid tiebreaker. I like overall record and then strength of schedule of out of conference opponents.
That doesn't help us as NW could very well go 0-9 in conference.Note that it's only Conference Games that are included in the tiebreaker.
Notre Dame beating OSU would go a long way in rendering this moot.
Beat UM at home, lose to osu on the road, osu loses to UM leaves us in a good spot. Better record than osu, h2h over michigan. Would also be fun watching the osu homers tripping over their logic from 2016.

That's assuming ND goes 8-4 and is basically garbage along with their other loss being a blowout and them beating us in a tight game. Gotta compare apples to apples. It's not just a loss.
Sure..if we want it to be comparableDoes ND also have to upset the #1 team in the country?
I would add at least one more loss for Iowa and one more loss for Wisconsin based on their recent history.Yep do the math trying to predict the records:
Nebraska 6-6
Minny 7-5
Purdue 7-5
Illinois 8-4
Iowa 9-3
Wisky 9-3
NW 3-9

You realize if NW wins all their crossover games then they will have beaten us.Nebraska- MSU, Maryland, UM
Minny- MSU, OSU, UM
Purdue- Indiana, OSU, UM
Illinois- Maryland, Indiana, PSU
Iowa- MSU, Rutgers, PSU
Wisky- Rutgers, Indiana, OSU
NW- Rutgers, Maryland, PSU
It would help for NW Iowa and Illinois to win their 3 tossup crossovers against Rutgers, MSU and Maryland. There's also a reasonable chance Purdue, Minnesota and Nebraska lose all of their crossover games.
Okay my bad I see what you are saying. You realize if NW wins all their crossover games then they will have beaten us.
Reading comprehension > you.You realize if NW wins all their crossover games then they will have beaten us.
