Dual on now. Can watch on the ACC network or through espn +

Ventresca who is ranked 4th in the country about to lose to McCrone. It’s 10-3 McCrone with :30 left. Would be a massive upset. And that’s it. McCrone rides Ventresca out to win 11-3. Didn’t see that coming

Now we get Bouzakis vs Latona. Should be a good one

Latona with a late td and it’s 3-0 going to the second. Quick escape for Bouzakis to make it 3-1. 1:00 left in the second period. Pretty boring period. No real attacks

Latona goes under to start the 3rd. Latona out and it’s 4-1. Bouzakis with a bad shot and Latona in deep on a re-attack. Gets a Td after a bit. Escape Bouzakis. 7-2 and then a td for Bouzakis. 7-5 and that’s how it ends. Fun 3rd period after a slow 2nd

Team score is 4-3 tOSU after 2 weights

Jesse Mendez vs true freshman Hunter Mason now up at 141. Mendez killing the poor kid. 12-3 and turns him. Mason fights off his back but it’s 16-3 with :15 left in the first. 18-3 tech for Mendez. Looked very good

ACC network has basketball right now

Another fun match coming up. Paddy Gallagher vs Bryce Andonian. They were high school teammates

Andonian dead to rights and he somehow comes out on top right at the end of the period. 3-0. Andonian. Ryan is challenging. Call upheld

Andonian starts down and Paddy cuts him. 4-0

Paddy with a beautiful duck and Andonian somehow counters again for another Td. 7-0 Andonian

Paddy with a late td and it ends 7-4. Even though he lost I thought Paddy looked pretty good. Hit a few really nice shots and got in deep. Andonian is just so damn tricky and dangerous from everywhere

Isaac Wilcox vs Connor Brady up next. I thought Bryce Hepner was likely to be tOSU starter. Anyone know if he’s hurt or Wilcox beating him?

Wilcox beats #16 Brady 6-5 with a td in the last 30 seconds

Ohio State up 12-9 now

Big match upcoming.#7 Kharchla vs #3 Mekhi

3-1 Mekhi after 1

Mekhi goes under to start the 2nd. Kharchla sooo close to a td at the end of the period but Mekhi somehow fought it off

Escape for Kharchla and it’s 4-2. Really fun match. Ends 4-2. Kharchla looked better than I thought he would up a weight against Mekhi

Team score is tied again. 12-12 with 3 matches remaining

Shumate gets the nod for Ohio State. Shumate vs Fisher. Looks like it’s actually Rogotze

Rogotze with a big double to end the period. 3-0

Rogotze goes down and gets a quick escape. 4-0. Another big double and it’s now 7-0. End of 2

Fisher goes neutral. Fisher had a td but Rogotze does Rogotze things and ends up putting Fisher on his back. Gets the fall!! Huge turn of events for Ohio State.

Now up 18-12 with 2 matches left. VT was favored in the dual but looks like Ohio Stare is going to win this thing

I thought Kharchla was the better wrestler tonight, the ending disappointed me.

To answeryour 165 question ….

Geog vs Smith now. Geog with a quick td. And then a 2nd. 6-1 very quickly. Smith an escape and Td to make the score 6-5. 7-5 after 1

Smith escapes and it’s 7-6 but Geog with a td. 10-6. Escape Smith. 10-7. End of 2.

11-7. 1:30 left. Geog tired but he keeps shooting. Geog wins 11-7 and Ohio State wins the dual

Feldman vs Catka. Should be a better test for Feldman than the tournament last weekend

0-0 after 1

Feldman goes under to start period 2. Catka with 3 big mat returns and he rides Feldman out.

0-0 and Catka goes down. Feldman goes optional start. 1-0 Catka. Feldman gets a Td with :08 left to win 3-2. Can’t believe Catka lost that match

Catka got out of that low stance late and opened up. I think he just got a little tired. Those are 2 great wrestlers.

Gotta give Ohio State credit. They humbled Va Tech. They won every 50/50 match, had a couple upsets, and kept it close against higher ranked opponents. Andonian and Latona both gave up late takedowns, which speaks to the effort by OSU (Andonians takedown were all incredible counters, but he was not the aggressor). And Feldman showed heart with a tough takedown in the last few seconds. Among many interesting future matchups, I’ll be anxious to see BB and Mendez. Against every fiber of my being, kudos to the Buckeyes. Either a great sign for the Buckeyes or a terrible sign for the Hokies. Or both. Or neither.

Also…Although I never have loved the idea of the 3 point takedown, it definitely kept things interesting late in matches.

LOL so Henson said VA TECH gonna be national champs!! not even close!!
I went back to the interview, I think he said National Chumpionship.

Hats off to the Bucks, they were better prepared, more aggressive, and better conditioned.

I thought it was a very bad look for VT, Ill prepared, poorly conditioned and less aggressive.

He almost blew it, but I still list Andonian as one of my non-PSU favorites to watch. Funky and creative, always good for a few Nolf/Askren like 'how did he do that' moments.
