1. Excellent seeding job by Tan Tom by giving his guys the most favorable brackets and screwing over PSU.
2. Home state advantage - can't do anything about that.
3. Credit given where credit due - Ohio State dominated top to bottom, outbonused PSU and wrestled smart. PSU's big guns didn't bonus as much and a lot of low low wrestling IQ so far (Keener getting pinned twice, Nick Lee getting pinned, Rasheed going down, Nevills locking hands twice, several wins where we left bonus points on the mat).

But have to emphasize OSU deserved this...they out wrestled us top to bottom. Beat us at our own bonus points game.

Didn’t realize the Germans had bombed Pearl Harbor already.

Wait...you’re saying it’s over? Lol

Now that Nevills and Rasheed both lost, yes it's over.

OSU up by 15 points and their max points is fifty (yes, not an error....50!) above ours. Unless they go 0-fer tonight it is safe to say we can't catch them.

Is it over? I thought there were matches tonight.

OSU up by 15 and max up by 50 points. Unless they lose a bunch tonight and we go flawless it is effectively done.

It’s far from over. I still expect Penn State to have the lead after the semis. Rasheed/Moore will be huge if they both win next. I’ll be shocked if this doesn’t come down to single point team differential.

Either way this seems more like giving up than a prediction. If I had to guess right now I’d pick tOSU, but it’s far from a sure thing

I'm not ready to concede, but I'm ready to say those Ohio State Wrestlers are having an exceptional tourney. It's all the more impressive when you consider the hand they were all dealt (coach, inferior university, etc).

They are going to need a lot of help in the semi's and of course, take care of their own business to take it again.

Who is "us"? Your first post ever on this forum was yesterday. Nearly all of your posts are anti-Penn State...

You sound like a Minnesota fan getting ready to print t-shirts.

I don’t think you understand the max points issue. It assumes, for example, that a Luke Pletcher will pin everyone in every available match from here on. That delta will shrink tonight if seeds hold

Any chance you're a Peruvian doctor, Ghost?

Lol...Easily squashed that argument! Pletcher isn't scoring more than 7 or 8 match points the rest of the tournament.

Did a better job than us on key transfers.

I dont understand how Nevills losing effects our final team score? I wasnt expecting him to beat Coon or Snyder and he can still get third.

As for Rasheed, if he beats Mattiace he could actually help us with a re-match or Moore, if he can pull off the upset he will knock Moore into the 7/8 match.

If we go 5 for 5 tonight we have an excellant chance. Tomasello, Pletcher, Mckenna, Jordan could all fall to the Consolations (or any combo thereof)

Nope, it’s gonna be close. I think OSU will be up 6 to 10 points going into the finals. Ghost declaring this over after the quarters was ridiculous though, especially considering recent history. A monkey could have analyzed the semifinal matchups and knew things were gonna be tight throughout. But not our buddy Ghost

The OSU seeding cruise was sunk tonight, 2 out of six to the finals. When they hit some superior completion they seemed tight. I have to credit them with good sportsmanship from all I saw no head gear throwing, chippy talk. They lost, shook hands, approached the opponents coaching staff, shook hands and the 125#'er then sought out his opponent again to congratulate him. He had to be horribly disappointed but was a real gentleman out there. He behaved far better than some coaches I've witnessed.

It will be an amazing finals as all the other results will be in place before they commence. Both teams will know exactly what is in front of them if they want to win the championship. It should be great fun. If OSU wins we will have lost to a great team. If we win, OSU will have lost to an amazing team and five incredible young men that made the finals, again. Murderers Row. The Big Squeeze. Heartbreak Ridge, The Longest Takedown, I mean Yard.

The PSU vs OSU wrestling rivalry appears set to run for a long time. I intend to enjoy it.
