OK, so what shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime do you recommend for binge watching?

Unfortunately, we don't have any sports to watch and really can't go out much or travel, so now is a great time to catch up on shows we may have wanted to see, but never had the time. My suggested list based on what I have already seen and enjoyed are as follows:

1. Jack Ryan - pretty action packed and great scenery
2. Hunters - very action packed, and will keep you in suspense all the way through to the end
3. Bosch - just started watching and so far so good, but not sure I love it yet.
4.The Kominsky Method - Hilarious about old men like me:)!
5. The Irishmen - not a series, but at 3 1/2 hours, you'll need to maybe watch in 2 sittings. It is excellent though!

I am looking for others, but am awaiting your feedback before deciding!

Lost in Space...I like it
Stranger Things...really good
Longmire...really good
Locke and Key...only half way through but like it.
Umbrella academy....pretty good
Altered Carbon. 1st season good, haven't started second season yet.
Gracie and Frank...not for everyone but I like it and Lilly Tomlin is a national treasure.
Better Call Saul...awesome
Breaking Bad...very good.

Thats a good start.

Try....Peaky Blinders on Netflix. I had a client in the UK suggest it to me...he knew that I was a Sopranos watcher and this series has a similar vibe in some ways. I highly recommend this to pass the time.

DCI Banks on Amazon. It’s a murder mystery series set in the Uk. I think there are about 6 seasons.

Some great ones already mentioned here, including one of the GOAT Breaking Bad.
Here are some shows that held my interest for awhile.
  • Animal Kingdom
  • Big Little Lies
  • The Outsider
  • Chernobyl
  • Ray Donovan
  • Vikings
  • The Mandalorian
  • See
  • Yellowstone
The last three films I saw worth mentioning were:
  • 1917
  • Richard Jewell
  • Honey Boy
Also, if you like detective/action movies (I usually don't) 21 Bridges was pretty good.

if you're just looking for a mindless, fun 2 hrs, try spenser: confidential on netflix.

2nd The Expanse
Just finished it. If you find the beginning slow, stick with it. It is to build some storyline and characters. Urge to binge watch after that.
Not sure what they are on, but not mentioned so far a couple we liked:
True Detective - McConauhey and Harrelson only 8 episodes
Good Behaviour - Lady Mary Crawley like you've never seen or might believe. Season 2 not as strong as Season 1

Agree highly with Peaky Blinders & Bosch.
Also enjoyed the mentioned Big Little Lies and Chernobyl.

Any others, something my wife may like too?
The Bridge (Swedish so subtitles but it is excellent) The French/Brit version is called The tunnel and is almost all English.
Rake- loved this Aussie series, very funny,
Marcella is very good.
Newsroom is an HBO show now streaming on Netflix. Also very good though it got shitty reviews.
Doc Martin of course.

All I can recall now.

She might like YOU.
Agreed. Beautiful story about what a man is willing to do for the woman he loves. Be prepared for a long night of lovemaking after your wife watches this with you. But that's MY take on it. Watch the trailer and come to your own conclusion.

And if you really need to kill a lot of time, try binge watching Coronation Street in its entirety.

Did you watch You?

We really liked Alias and Revenge, and would even rewatch them if they came back. We get Netflix. What is out there on Netflix that is like these? I am tempted to add more streaming services during this downtime if something is available that is as good as these. We tend not to like stuff that would get an R-rating. We like intrigue without the blood and guts violence. And the wife could do without the bedroom scenes.

I'll add that we like well done comedies, but they are hard to find. Juvenile comedy or crude comedy is not to our tastes.

Travels by Narrowboat- start with season one, of course

It's slow and calming, as well as interesting

Narcos, especially Narcos Mexico
Yeah, every season of Narcos is fantastic. It actually gets better.

Like @Sluggo said, the Wire really is a must. It's still my all time number 1

Succession on hbo is pretty good.

For the those with a more twisted sense of humor, Trailer park boys is very being bingable. Not high quality, but it's pretty amusing.

Catastrophe is absolutely hilarious if you can stand some really off shaded humor. Sharon Horgan is brilliant.
