But seriously, that's one heckuva schedule, especially when you figure they'll likely get PSU or Ohio State in the duals bowl.
that is an impressive schedule.
before we give them too much credit, I think it's important to keep in mind that they are a Big 12 school. In addition to Ok. St., the schools in that conference are: Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, West Virginia. Of those, only Iowa State, Oklahoma, and West Virginia have wrestling teams. In 2015, the conference announced that N. Dakota St., Utah Valley, Wyoming, S. Dakota St., Northern Colorado, and Air Force were joining the conference for wrestling, to make a 10-team conference (and thus have an automatic qualifying tournament).
In the Ok. St. schedule that was linked, it shows 5 conference matches (Oklahoma, West Virginia, Iowa St., Wyoming, and Oklahoma again). It also shows that they have a dual with S. Dakota St., but it's not listed as a conference tournament.
I think that if PSU, Ohio St., Iowa, Cornell, etc. only had to schedule 5 conference duals, they could come up with some pretty challenging dual schedules.
I'm not trying to belittle Ok. St.'s schedule; far from it. Just trying to keep things in perspective.
Cornell only does have to schedule five conference duals. Brown, Columbia, Harvard, Penn, and Princeton.that is an impressive schedule.
