Old Dominion Cuts Wrestling

Also

University General Counsel gave me the incorrect address to mail the payment they required for my FOIA requests regarding the emails between the administration and the consultant hired to conduct their survey. The wouldn't start on the search until funds were received. I re-mailed the check Monday. Odd, they state since the school has been working remotely, they can't take electronic payments?

Looks like I've been throwing my money away for years.

Unfortunately this is just the beginning. With universities under financial pressure due to the crisis, and the inevitable scraping of next season (sorry fans), we will soon see 'dozens' of smaller programs scuttled as yet one more opportunistic victim of the hysteria. Tragic for our sport as many programs were already hanging on by their fingernails and administrators only need an excuse, now they possess the CV-19 trump card.

No big loss. Who wants an old dominion, anyhow? The young ones seem better.

ODU was the beginning. There's now been 87 dropped teams (including four schools that have closed) since this started.

I wanted my alma mater to be a leader in something worthwhile, not a leader in failure.

To be somewhat fair to ODU let me share some former job experiences. The shipping label looks like UPS. Years back I once worked for a large shipping company, loading and unloading packages. If you saw what I saw and experienced you would understand it is not always the sender's fault. Not saying it is justified. It is amazing more packages don't get damaged. Could ODU have sent it in a more secure box...sure....but you also expect the shipper not to destroy your items. P.S. It was the only job I ever hated going to!!!

I'd at least expect ODU to send those trophies in a new box, and not one that was previously used to stuff game-day jerseys in.

True story: I once shipped 2 cases of Yuengling bottles via Mail Boxes Etc., from the east coast to my brother when he lived in California. They made it 100% intact.

If I could do that, surely ODU could get 2 trophies from Norfolk to Shippensburg. Well, except I cared.
