One SEC University looking to upgrade the college game day experience.

Texas A&M loves excess, but that doesn't always work.

Our fans complain about donations for seats. You think they will pony up something like this?

the article is from 2017. I know our fanbase likes to live in the past and all but c'mon
Exactly. When I was reading the article and it said that the hotel would be constructed in time for the beginning of the 2018 football season, I was a bit puzzled. I then looked at the date of the article, lol

INHO, Sandy cannot get out fast enough.

Putting astride the clearly TIC aspect of that article, if Sandy ever tried to do something even remotely like that it would be stuck in fundraising purgatory indefinitely- effectively DOA.

Over 5 years ago she held a press conference to announce a Penn State facility master plan. A plan that was very vague, had no real details or direction, and has gone absolutely nowhere in 5+ years. Everyone’s pretty much forgotten about it and no one in media, or elsewhere, is holding Sandy to account for any lack of progress.

Did it happen? Or was just a vision like Sandy’s wrapping of the Beav...

Really did not mean to come across as TIC. I've been to a handful of A&M games over the past 6 years. The article is spot on about the miserable tailgating conditions in September and October, when the daytime temperatures still hit 90 degrees for the most part. I think it is forward thinking for A&M to study the customer experience and do something about it.

Now take this perspective to State College, where the administration has done just about everything possible to kill the tailgating experience outside Beaver Stadium.

There will be a day (and maybe soon) when the administration is begging people to come to State College to tailgate and take in the college gameday experience.

I know the hotel was built right beside stadium. Not sure about the other things.

They also got rid of the old president’s house and are rebuilding that side to include a prime location that has all the necessary infrastructure for hosting Gameday, SEC Nation, etc. Their student union is also right across from stadium.

Very nice setup. Supposed to be down that way in October. I will have to take a closer look.

While I enjoyed my visit to Alabama a number of years ago (excepting the score), the weather for tailgating in September is rough. I'm not surprised that's the case in other parts of the south. My brother bought all kinds of stuff for tailgating--and it was too hot to grill or eat....
