One thing that has not been mentioned, Singleton had several nice receptions out of backfield.

Whatever gets Nicky Six out in clear water where he can do his magic is fine with me. He can do a lot of damage making those grabs. Loved to see it.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed in some of the play calling. I think PSU failed to consistently exploit what was probably an advantage on the edges. It seemed when Shelton and Vega played more, the team was able to work those passes to Singleton more freely.

The big benefit of those passes is that if you hit enough of them consistently (Singleton averaged 16 yards a catch), you spread the defense out both horizontally and vertically (Illinois was trying to stack the LOS and stop PSU from establishing the run) - if you can "back them off" and spread 'em out (for instance, if you put Singleton in motion and use him as a "Flanker"), you can counter with runs between the tackles.
