I'm guessing some already know but in case you didn't Penn State does have an open practice on Saturday. Here's the press release...

Penn State Football Open Practice Set for August 12

Practice is free and open to the public; Autograph event exclusively for Happy Valley United members will take place prior to practice

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football will hold a free, open practice to all fans on Saturday, Aug. 12, beginning at 7 p.m. on the Lasch Practice Fields. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

Prior to the open practice, a team autograph session will be held in Holuba Hall from 5:35-6:20 p.m., exclusively for members of Happy Valley United, the official Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) collective for Penn State Athletics.

Fans can join Happy Valley United to support Penn State’s student-athletes. Monthly memberships start at $25 with subscribers gaining access to exclusive benefits and event invitations throughout the year. To learn more and become a member of Happy Valley United, visit www.happyvalleyunited.com.

Happy Valley United Members attending the autograph session can enter the University Drive side of Holuba Hall beginning at 5:35 p.m. and are permitted to bring one adult guest, along with children who are 18 and under. Members are asked to bring their membership card if they have one. Those who do not have a membership card but are a registered member, please plan to arrive early to check in. Fans are encouraged to sign up for a membership ahead of time, but, if fans need to sign up at the door, they can be provided assistance in doing so as long as they have a smart phone and credit card on hand. In an effort to facilitate as many autographs as possible in the time allotted, members will be limited to one item per person for autographs.

Practice entry begins at 6:30 p.m. There will be two locations for practice entry: the University Drive side of the Lasch Practice Fields, located to the left of Holuba Hall, and the front side of Holuba Hall facing East Area Locker Building. The open practice is scheduled to last approximately two hours. For security purposes, all items are subject to inspection as fans enter the complex. Fan activities, including a kids zone and food trucks, will be present at practice.

Fans can park for the autograph session and practice for $1 per hour in the Stadium West parking lot. Fans will be required to pay for parking via the ParkMobile app and enter 95112 as the zone number. Download the ParkMobile app or visit ParkMobile’s Penn State site to learn more. Please note, parking lots adjacent to Holuba and Lasch are closed to public parking and are regularly patrolled.

To access Holuba Hall from Stadium West lot, walk along Curtin Road and take a left at University Drive. Holuba Hall is located on the right side of University Drive, just past Pegula Ice Arena.

Penn State’s season opener on Sept. 2, against West Virginia in Beaver Stadium, will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on NBC. A total of 41 lettermen are returning for Penn State in 2023. The Nittany Lions return 13 starters – seven on offense and six on defense.

This should be interesting. I would think a very large crowd will come out for this and those practice fields don’t hold a ton of people (including 125 players out there plus staff).

Wondering how many people will be allowed to attend? If 10k people come, can those fields accommodate that?
