OK, more generally about the '72 OU season. I had thought that OU had to vacate their win over PSU, but recently read that the NCAA eventually backed off that aspect of their sanctions from vacating the whole season to vacating just 3 games... which OU (and the NCAA) never took off the record books. Lol. OU beat the Lions on the field... not contesting that... just a bit surprised (or not!) that OU essentially plays dumb that they were supposed to vacate 3 games and that they still claim the National Championship, etc. (and Nebraska claims that Big 8 Championship as well, having finished with a 5-1-1 record against OU's pre-vacated 6-1-0 conference record).
