rumor has it, one of the alumni trustees voted for Dambly to stay on as chair

Ted Brown got 10 votes, and managed get 2 votes from 2 appointed trustees of the Guv.

9 alumni trustees MINUS 1 who voted for Dambly + 2 Gov appointed trustees = 10

hmmm, maybe our screeching budget genius could shine some light on this

also curious how 5000 fewer ballots were cast in 2018, but the decline ONLY affected the numbers for the PS4RS candidates

also 700 fewer write in votes this year

and if the Yankees make the playoffs, I will tell you a story about orcs and dragons!!

Somewhat of an aside, I did find it interesting Brandon Short was the lone abstainer in the in-state/out of state tuition vote.

Yea me too.
How is "abstaining" helping one way or the other?
Please don't tell me I helped put another Adam T. on the board.

I don't think so; abstaining to me is a de facto 'no' vote, so why not make a statement and vote 'no'? I guess in this particular instance it looks like you're voting against freezing tuition for in-state students (which is what the headline would read) and maybe that's not how you want to kick off your term as a member of the BOT. On the other hand, why not? See: @Nitt1300 's post.

BTW: At least one of the Alumni-Elected trustees voted for Dambly
While the votes are "supposed to be" confidential o_O the Alum Trustee who voted for Dambly has been on the Board for "more than one term".
(FWIW, There may have been more than one... but there was at least one)
The reason for that vote in support of Dambly will become clear (to those following along) over the next few months.

Cloak and dagger stuff....don't you usually gripe about this? Now you are a willing participant

Seems like hypocrisy

What would be 10,000 X more meaningful, would be for someone to EXPLAIN the reason for their vote (and not in some Twitter or FaceBook post).

These are the opportunities - in a public, on-the-record forum - - - - where you have a DUTY to carry out your responsibilities as stewards - - - - - where you are supposed to communicate with those who you represent.

I can't help but to SMFH at the consistent inability to perform the most basic of governance functions.
(Although I know, in the case of most of the 36 Trustees, the folks involved are simply too stupid/disengaged to HAVE rational reasons for their vote)

Alas.

But Brandon said his reason, paraphrasing, was because 'for every dollar increase on out of state students there is a disproportionate effect on low income and middle class students,' adding 'I haven't been on the board long enough to know for certain we are doing all we can to support those students.'

He didn't say a thing during the meeting (I am guessing you've heard from him via Social Media or some such thing). But I'm NOT ragging on B Short...….. not a point I would be making at all.

(Although, if his rationale was this :
'I haven't been on the board long enough to know for certain we are doing all we can to support those students."..... I don't know if it was or wasn't, I'm just going by what you wrote....
then he shouldn't be on the Board.
You're responsible to do your reading and studying BEFORE the test :)
But that would be a Voter problem, not a BShort problem.... not to mention if that were the case, we would be talking about just one more Trustee afflicted with the same disease. )

The point is that there was not one word from anyone...… on ANY topic.
Which is the case with pretty much every key topic before the Board over the last 6 years.
What I AM talking about is THAT comprehensive, abject failure of governance. is the thing I AM taking issue with (as always).

Yes, the comments I quoted from him were from a social media post on his Instagram. I provided a link to his post in my original comments.
