OT~ Anybody familiar with Hearthside nursing home in State College?

Anybody familiar with Hearthside nursing home in State College? Good place, bad? My Grandmother is being transferred there. It was a last minute thing, don't know anything about the place, was wondering if anybody here knew about the place.

I think half this Board lives there. Actually, I shouldn't joke about that. I don't know anything about it but I wish your Grandmother well.

My F-I-L spent his last 5 or 6 months there before passing away in Dec. of 14. His only gripe was the food was cold sometimes by the time they got to him at mealtime. They would make an effort to make it right if he complained but the guy was not the complaining type. I never got the idea he was not being taken care of. My wife also thought he was being well taken care of and she's a nurse. My observations of the staff was that they were kind and interested. Again, these are only our experiences.

I said nursing home, not nut house...

Thanks for the info and links folks. We're hoping she won't be there long, she's on a waiting list for a spot at a place closer to home. SC was the only place they could get her into on short notice.
