OT: Anyone cooking anything? Giada is chopping and baking stuff...

I just put a pot of chicken stock on the stove to reduce. Chicken noodle soup tonight.

I've got a turkey breast ($.99/lb. @ Publix) on the rotisserie. $7 total. W/ a meat slicer and a vacuum sealer, this is a no-brainer. I brined it and I also injected it w/ butter/oil/broth mixture. Rubbed it w/ poultry seasoning and some other stuff. Trying to keep it slow. As long as juices aren't leaking too much (they aren't right now), it should come out good.

Just boiled one pound of angel hair and will open the jar of ragu, pour over top of the pasta and toss in the microwave for 45 seconds.

Thinking about making chili this evening. That chili cookoff thread has me wanting to create something.

It's gonna get cold this week so I think it's time to get the slow cooker out and make chili Throw in some extra jalapeños some Sricha sauce and balance with a little brown sugar.

No one ....... NO ONE .......is interested in viewing your bouncing cleavage as you work your way around the kitchen!!!!!!!

Wife is handling it - pot roast with potatoes, carrots, onions. Good winter food and the house smells great. I'm watching golf and contemplating a cocktail.

I made the chili yesterday (I posted the recipe the other day in Step's thread.) and it kicked much ass. Plenty of leftovers so no cooking today. The local store had big bags of fresh broccoli for cheap so I blanched and froze a ton the other day to put out for Super Bowl, which will feature pulled Buffalo Chicken sandwiches.

Giada is hotter than a firecracker but I have to put her on mute.

Still debating dinner tonight.....but tomorrow morning after rehab the slow cooker is coming out for 8 hours of beef stew. It's that time of year!

Grilled pork chops and broccoli
Hmmm I found something called pork steak they look like big chops but I think they are from another cut of the hog I plan to smoke them for an hour and finish them on the grill

The start of week 2 of my diet. 4oz grilled turkey breast and with grilled squash. I opened a bottle of wine so I'm probably screwed.

all was going well until I over thought the situation. I had them on the smoker for a little over an hour, and was going to finish them on the grill. Anyway I checked the temp, and they were not quite there, so I put them on the grill to finish and left to do something else. Well the one thing I forgot was, these 'steaks' , although they may look like bone in pork chops, have a lot more fat in them. Anyway, by the time I got back to the grill, I had burned them up!! They were charred! So note to self, don't walk away from the grill ( and I should know better).

Are you kidding?! I've been married for over 20 years and my wife can't cook worth shi#!

I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to come home to that, cooking a meal for me. I'd do a "Postman Only Rings Twice" on her (Nicholson/Jessica Lange) and then ask her when she'd like to renew our vows.

You would be very disappointed in Giada if you were married to her. nice to look at but that's about it

Made Posole on Sat. afternoon. I love that stuff and unlike a lot of other "soups" or stews it freezes really well.

I love a good chili.
I did Posole in the crock pot on Saturday. I really need to move to New Mexico. LOL.
