OT Better Call Saul No Spoilers

Will watch it tonight....

And I finally got around to last week's episode where Jimmy starts to lay the foundation for his class action lawsuit as well as roping his brother in to helping him. I have a feeling this will be both of their undoing....

Spoiler.....

I think that scene with Mike acting as protection in a drug deal is the beginning of his new job/role in New Mexico that will eventually lead to Gus Freign.

a few notes, no real spoilers

BRILLIANT casting of Steve Ogg . . . that scene with him and Jonathan Banks about the guns was some of the best writing the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul Team has ever done! in case you are not familiar with Ogg . . . go play GTA V . . .

one of the aspects of BCS that is a plus for BB fans is how the context of certain scenes (especially the one mentioned by the OP) changes dramatically if you've watched the series. boy that was a heart breaker, had me in tears, especially knowing what Saul Goodman really was . . .

all I am ging to add is that this series is better than I anticipated, brilliant. This weeks episode opened a bunch of doors. loved it.

and yes, the casting is fantastic.

Too bad, I think Howard is a total turd.

well (semi SPOILER)

we now know why Howard was such a turd to Jimmy, and it is soul crushing

My wife knows his wife - she grew up in Austin

We laugh at how much of an ahole his character is.

I agree about Ogg. That performance was over the top campy but really funny. When he tries to make his move, you're thinking, uh oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you .......

I didn't know he was Grand Theft Auto guy but that adds a whole additional layer of meaning to the scene.

my stepson loved Breaking Bad but is a little luke warm about this series. he is a big time gamer. when I told him about Ogg he was giddy to watch the show. GTA V goes beyond a simple game, it really is like a TV series in its own right.

Ogg's character is named Sobchek. An homage to the Big Lebowski's Walter Sobchek of Sobchek Security and a gun nut to boot! Hmmm? It is because the show writers are Big Lebowski fans.
