OT: Brendan Dassey conviction overturned

I was just about to post this. what a fascinating turn of events:

Dassey conviction overturned

I know, I know I murder a bucket full of cute bunnies every time I compare Making a Murderer to the Penn State situation, but the irony here is just . . . ironic . . .

In his 91-page ruling, U.S. Magistrate Judge William Duffin was highly critical of investigators, Dassey's attorney and the state courts on how they handled the case, concluding that Dassey's Constitutional rights were violated.

Hmmmmmm corrupt investigators and corrupt prosecutors. Hmmmmm

I hope this kid gets released. This kid is special needs/retarded. The investigators and prosecutors should replace him in prison

Hear that Fina?

no no no even if you lie to witnesses, force false statements out of people, lie on the stand, lie in a GJ presentment, lie to the press . . . all good for our criminal justice system . . .

The combination of the state (whether state or national), dishonest journalism, and subsequent click bait advertisers does not bode well for the immediate future of this country. Orwell was an optimist.

Big Brother is being abetted by the watchmen . . .

Big Brother, Big Business and The Watchman are all on the same team - Trump is very much correct that this is an "insider only" rigged system from both sides of the isle. Very much "Modern Rome" with a "two speed" justice system - one for the "Political Elite Class" and one for everybody else....only those counted among the "Politcal Elite Class" have access to the "pay for play" and "pay for protection" (often called "insurance" in the underworld) system. The vampire lawyer turned politicos sell the "access" for their own aggrandizement both domestically and internationally including international trade agreements, etc....

The Central Park Five is from "my generarion" of the 80's. I frequented NYC, back then.

Here we are, 30 years later, SOSDD (Same Ole Sh!t, Different Day).

Ken Burns' documentary about them is chilling and disturbing.

but you're right, it was a corrupt and feckless police department, abetted by an outraged public and an irresponsible sensationalist media, that created that travesty

I binged that whole series in one day back in December. My wife's from WI and we are in close contact with friends and family...these are all fairly liberal church going, college educated people. everyone thinks that the prosecution did a good job, Avery and Dassey are guilty. Our friends and family have all made up their minds all refuse to reexamine the possibility of police and prosecutorial misconduct. (sound familiar?)

Stuff like this is just too much for people to process and so they just shut it out. IMO, Fina, Corbet et al have known this for years that's why they are so brazen.

not like Ken Kratz was a pill addict and got caught trying to sext a domestic violence victim who's abuser he was prosecuting . . .
