OT - CORD CUTTING ADVICE

I've been on DirecTV for over 20 years and my latest contract just recently expired. Called them today and after finally getting through to a live person asked what offers they had for customer retention. I basically wanted a free year of NFL Sunday Ticket, which they offer to any new customer off the street, and new equipment which I already knew I qualified for. Representative said they cannot give me the Sunday Ticket and after a bit of going round and round I thanked her and told her I was going to cancel DTV altogether.

What to you guys that have cut the cord do? Buddy of mine told me he's doing SlingTV but he cannot get Big 10 or Sunday Ticket and that would mean missing a few PSU and quite a few Steeler games per year.
