OT: Freeh in seclusion, recovering from injuries . . . not!

Not sure I get it either. But I guess Ridge is the Republican godfather in Pennsylvania, perhaps, and Corbett was doing his bidding. At least, that was my interpretation.

This is the part that I don't get at all, the Ridge connection. Never understood it.

Ridge is close to LeRoy Zimmerman who is the real "kingmaker" in PA (also made Dick Thornburg before Ridge). Robert Asher is LZ head Cappo for lack of a better word. Corbutt & Santorum were also Zimmerman products. I believe LZ, TR and TC are all graduates of Dickenson Law School before it was made part of PSU. Believe all three have served on the Boards of Dickerson and The Hershey Medical School after they were made part of PSU. Many, many, many other connections between the PA GOP and this trio including to nationally prominent and powerful GOP political huntas such as the Bushes.

BTW, ever ask yourself how Jerry Sandusky's charity, The Second Mile, came to be mentioned and identified as a shining example of one of the "Thousand Points of Light" by George Bush Sr during his now famous nationally televised "Thousand Points of Light" speech/address?

Ask yourself, how would GB Sr know anything about Jerry Sandusky or his personal charity, let alone single out The Second Mile as a quintessential example of one of the Thousand Points of Light that was the centerpiece of his speech?

No, just a few days ago.

That clearly was a speech that he NOT ONLY did not write......but wasn't even very familiar with the content.

I won't hazard a guess as to what his underlying objective was - or who paid him for his "support".....but most certainly it was (as is the norm for Louis) a paid endorsement - not a statement of any true beliefs.

Wasn't there some rumor about Surma calling Ridge from a limo that fateful night in Nov 2011? Or am I remembering wrong?
Surma's driver was former PSP. At PSP, same guy drove for Ridge, Rendell, Corbett, and maybe the short termer after Ridge.

While sitting with Surma and some BOT members AND Corbett in State College, a call came in on the driver's phone. It was Ridge. After an exchange of greetings, phone was handed over to Corbett. I have no info on what was discussed.

uhm I am not Not Keith Masser, I just posted his tweet . . . wait, I just admitted to BEING Keith Masser . . .

My bad. I found a more explicit source on Freeh's attendance this year. I initially was confused when I found sources showing his attendance previously at the same apparent annual conference. I found it hard to believe he had recovered sufficiently to attend again. What excuse now exists for his not being subpoenaed in Penn state related suits? Should be none.

At a minimum, a nice all-expenses-paid-by-the-sponsors trip to Paris, where he can network and sell his wares to other washed-up politicians and former intelligence bureaucrats. You don't expect him to work for freedom for free, do you?
The meeting may have value but just look at this collection of influence-peddlers making up the US delegation - most of them would go anywhere for a free meal:
Former CIA director James Woolsey, former Sec. of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, former head of the UN Human Rights Commission Ken Blackwell, former Labor Sec. Elaine Chao, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff Hugh Shelton, former commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps James Conway, Alan Dershowitz, former DNC Head Howard Dean, former Senator Joe Lieberman, Former Governor Ed Rendell, Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
A lot of people are in on the boondoggle, including the no-name writer of this blog:

"Although few in America probably are aware of it, taking place right now is a huge gathering of the Iranian diaspora calling for regime change by the Iranian people."

Makes it sound like their purpose there is to serve as cheerleaders to rile up the Iranian people against their government, and make it appear that they will have outside support.....even though there were no actual leaders of government involved. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me: instigate an uprising and then fail to come thru with the promised support. Works every time.

Glad to see that my pal Louis Freeh was well enough to go to Paris with Tom Ridge this week to push for war on Iran.

Didn't hear any call for war. Have any

Yeah like when zer0 refused any help to the Iranian people when they tried to throw off the mad mullahs and their 7th century theocracy. Of all his terrible mistakes, that was his biggest.

Well, not really like that at all. But, if you want to pretend that the President was making speeches telling the Iranian people to rise up and revolt....and we'll back you up, you go right ahead.
