There's an old story that Mick Jagger tells about The Stones calling for Ronnie Wood after they kicked Brian Jones out of the band. One of Wood's Faces band mates answered the phone, took down the message and then promptly discarded it. Wood never knew The Stones wanted him until years later after Mick Taylor left and they finally spoke to Ronnie about joining.
