In general, sideline reporting tends to be a lot of fluff, but I've always enjoyed Holly Rowe. She started working college football right around the time I got into it as a kid, and always preferred her reporting over Erin Andrews. It also doesn't hurt that she did sideline reporting for a game I"ve watched in it's full entirety more times than what I care to admit. Ohio State 2005.... I'll never forget this question at the end of the game, victory bell clanging in the background.... EPIC

Holly Rowe: "People wanna know if Penn State's back, what would you say?" JoePa: ... Wellll I dunno whetha we ever left."

So yeah, Holly Rowe is pretty much the only thing ESPN has done right over the past 20 years. I somehow stumbled upon the interview with Dan Patrick and Holly from back in 2016, and the ending of this cracks me up. Can't you just picture Bob Knight riding shotty.. making holly drive in a blizzard so he can woof down micky d's? ... Feeding holly french fries? lol

Her work ethic and love for college athletics is contagious. She's good at what she does cause she loves it so much.

Yes, hopefully it’s in full remission.

Gotta love her attitude.

From The Advocate December 2018

"Rowe’s upcoming schedule includes Tuesday’s Allstate Sugar Bowl, marking her 10th time to be at the event. The Sugar Bowl is her first of 2019 after she has worked 86 events in 2018, 10 more than her norm of the past few years.

Diagnosed three years ago with desmoplastic melanoma, a rare form of skin cancer, Rowe has battled the disease through two rounds of chemotherapy and radiation (more tumors developed in 2017) plus a clinical trial of a new immunotherapy treatment.

Her last day of chemo was in August, just in time for football season. Rowe, who missed only 10 days of work during the whole process, is now in recovery.

So, in between all of those job assignments, Rowe is taking the time to do things for herself — like moving from her native Salt Lake City to New York so she could spend more time with her son, McKylin, a college student there, going on walks in Central Park, visiting the Met and taking painting, piano and cooking lessons.

It beats, Rowe said, “Sitting at home on my couch thinking about having cancer and feeling sorry for myself.

“That would never have been a good place for me. As weird as it sounds, I’m living better because I have cancer.”

She seems like a pretty cool chic. She also said in that interview that one time Bob Knight slapped her on the ass leaving the court after a game. She thought it was awesome as it meant that she was accepted as just another one of the guys.

Holly Rowe and Maria Taylor are roommates in NYC, and Holly’s college age son lives with them. She’s definitely one of the best in the business.
