OT Low carb diet update.

Find time to get a walk in each day if possible. At least 3-4 times a week if not every day. If just 20 - 30 minutes, I found is huge help in keeping weight off. And, I’ve decided I’m not going to set weight loss goals, but overall change my lifestyle (well, the eating aspect anyway).

This is exactly the approach that has been working for me recently. I’m not tracking calories or setting specific weight loss targets... I’m just avoiding carbs as much as I reasonably can, and trying to walk more than 10,000 steps/day at least 4-5 days per week.

I have shed about 40 pounds since early September, and the following things (which had all been issues to one degree or another) have all shown improvement:
- Blood sugar
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol
- Liver enzymes
- Chronic back pain greatly reduced
- Energy level
- Overall mood
- Ability to focus and feel productive

Things are certainly not perfect — I have a lot of work yet to do. But I turned 50 today, and I really wanted to set a more positive tone health-wise as I entered my new decade. I feel I’ve achieved that! :)

Good work, my friend. Wish I would have realized I needed to get my act together sooner. I started spring of 2019 when I was 57.
keep it up!

Even though the original post is from three years ago, it's great that the topic of low-carb diets and their effects on brain health is still relevant and engaging. The insights you've shared about the benefits of a low carb ketone diet for brain function are really interesting. It's remarkable how research continues to uncover connections between our dietary choices and our overall well-being. I'd also recommend to check out https://reverse.health/. It's a useful resource for anyone interested in exploring this further. It's encouraging to know that researchers are actively investigating ways to address brain aging and enhance cognitive abilities.

Wow, there's a lot of old threads suddenly being dug up lately.

Who is paying for BOTS to hype up the low carb diet? Is there a Bib lettuce cartel I don’t know about?
