So totally OT and without boring you with specifics, has anyone ever had a really bad experience at a medical office and filed a complaint with an official state board in PA? Long story short, my other half saw a doctor 8 a.m. Monday morning. By 9 a.m. she was out of the office and the doctor told her she needed a cat scan done stat and they would submit it to insurance to authorize and get it scheduled. Yesterday we followed up because we hadn't heard anything and it wasn't even submitted yet for authorization. This culminated with us stopping in today and being told by the secretary that she was plain too busy to submit the authorization this week. I kid you not, she literally said she had meetings all day Wednesday and hadn't had time to get to it yet (not sure what meetings on Wednesday have to do with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday...).
After that, we proceeded to go to urgent care and within an hour she had been seen by a doctor and already had authorization for the test that the other office couldn't find the time to do over the course of 4 business days. So as you can imagine, I'm livid.
I found a complaint form on the state department of health website, but is there any other recourse? I just want some sort of file that says this place literally delayed medical treatment for a week because they were "too busy." I'd hate for this to happen to someone else in a more urgent situation.
