OT: MLB U.S. all-stars vs rest-of-world MLB all-stars?

Now that MLB has scrapped the All-Star Game winner determining league home advantage in the WS, a radio sports show caller came up with a new format cited in the post title that appeals to me. Perhaps it could replace the World Classic, which many GMs and managers do not like because of injury risk.
