OT: my son is switching from hoops to wrestling and has HUGE feet, where can

Yikes! He must be a big kid... I assume that he’s a heavyweight? I don’t have any personal insight, I’m afraid. I guess you tried a google search? Wouldn’t the wrestling coach know where to get shoes that big?

Poked around, evidently size 16 is the max size offered on nearly all wrestling shoes everywhere. I might write to the manufacturers themselves, and cc their marking department. A company like Asics, say, isn't going to start mass marketing size 17 shoes, but they might make a pair if they can tie in a publicity opportunity.

Maybe pin this post, this issue keeps coming up.

Tried eastbay. He's 14, 6'5" and 250 and also a RT and DE

6'5" at 14? Switch him back to basketball. 7' 300lbs guys can make a lot of money whether they are coordinated or not at 14. Even if he doesn't make the NBA, he can live a nice life overseas.

not a joke, totally serious....I would email or tweet TR foley, this is right up his alley.

Better yet, get Mike C. to ask Foley -- a response is guaranteed.

[That was a joke, BTW -- wishing you luck in finding some shoes].

He wants to try wrestling. He's a freshman so he can switch back to basketball if he wants, but I think he'll make a good wrestler. He's also more of an individualist and I think that is part of the appeal of wrestling.

Just curious about whether you have projections for his ultimate height... As others have said, once you get so tall, you have to really dislike basketball to not play it. I don't think there is a guaranteed scholarship for every 7 foot basketball players, but there are more overall basketball scholarships out there than wrestling. If football is his preferred sport, then I think the skills he will learn in wrestling may lend themselves well the positions he will play in football.

Nonsense. Sounds like football is his sport, and wrestling will do wonders for his hand fighting and footwork on the line.

my son is switching from hoops to wrestling and has HUGE feet, where can I find shoes? He wears a 17! Thanks!

I was gonna say similarly, but to tweet at Adam Coon.

Or Bob Lanier whose shoe size was something in excess of 20. Not a wrestler but he should know where to get large shoes. Of course, he's older than me so he may not even know what twitter is. :D
