I recently received a promotion at work. I work in law enforcement. The one downfall (for my body) is that the promotion takes me to night shift. I wanted night shift because my son is starting school this year and my daughter is two years away from kindergarten. It was either nights or stay on middle shift. Before I had kids I worked night shift and I had no problems sleeping. I would come home and go to bed. Now, I'm going to have to stay up when I get home, ill have both kids in the summer every day and then only my daughter during the school year. I have two days where my parents and inlaws will relieve me around 11am but the other days it's all me until my wife gets home. I have signed my kids up for summer playground that I will take them too a few days a week (9am-1130) because it's not fair to them if I'm laying around being miserable. I plan on dropping them at playground across town and then I'll be going to the gym so I can wake up more before picking them back up. What sleep suggestions do you guys have? Have any of you stayed up until the afternoon while working nights? Is it something I will ever get used too? I feel like although my sleep patterns will be sporadic I can stay pretty healthy by making myself work out. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks guys
