This topic has been discussed numerous times over the years. The statistics are quite revealing. The comment that the NFL is aware of this and is trying to get more guys to turn out is interesting. (I haven't heard anything about how the NFL is trying to increase high school participation, but their self-interest certainly makes the case why they would try to do so.)
