Beat me to it. Ol' Marsh probably crucified himself over this.

Damn that Joe.

Well it is that time of the year.
I'm sure Jesus called him (Marshcreek) more than a couple times to ask for his cross back.

Joe should have played him against Iowa

instead of playing a limited offense with a still injured QB. That was probably the last straw for Devlin. That said, the transfer was probably still a good move for Pat. He got his shot.

Different circumstances but Obrien & Franklin have also been reluctant to play backups. I really don't understand that. Why risk injury when a game is no longer in doubt.

Devlin could have at least provided an extra blanket for the place kicker,

freezing his butt off !

Re: Joe should have played him against Iowa

But yet we had the lead in the 4th Q with a great D.......

But Then Our 75% QB Overthrew A Wide Open WR By 10+ Yds!

Oh well, we can (and have) second-guessed that for a L O N G time.

No second-guessing the lack of sideline heaters, though.....that was just plain arrogant and stupid.

Then Our Friendly Zebras Gave Iowa The Bogus PI Call!

The one where the PSU DB jumps VERTICALLY.....TOUCHES THE BALL (which the receiver NEVER did).....and then gets submarined by the receiver. Another in a L O N G line of getting hosed by the Big 10(12) / Big 10(14)I

Marsh periodically posts on this board, but under a new name. His new

handle consists of six letters, all consonants.

I am impressed that Pat was still playing. I did not realize he was on a roster to be release from.

I always thought he was an accurate passer, and had one of the better arms, and a good kid.

over the years, we have been blessed with an abundance or a drought at the QB position. How could anyone complain having Daryl and Pat on the same team.

Actually, I am amazed that Daryl really never got much of a shot. I don't think he ever even got a chance to play in pre-season in the NFL (I recall he was UFA with Wash).

anyone recall all the great combos we have had (even though some have chosen to leave)?

Blackledge - Hostetler (two NFL guys although Mike lasted longer but Todd got us MNC + remains a super star broadcaster) = my favorite of all timeWhat are your favorites?

From a college perspective, Pat was accurate and did have a good arm. At the NFL level, his arm was considered average. His problem pre-draft was that his accuracy went away when he was taken out of the hot read/short pass sets that he ran at UD. He didn't do well at the combines, didn't do well at his pro day, and his draft stock fell through the floor. It's a testament to how high the NFL standards are that he and others like him don't make the grade.

One of the things I don't like is that guys like Clark and Devlin get treated like they are somehow complete losers because they they didn't make it in the NFL. Both had great athletic careers, helped their schools win games, carried themselves well and "failed" only in that they aren't in the top 60-70 people on the planet at what they do. Most of us should "fail" so badly.

Amazing thing that Devlin probably accomplished more than 99.9% of posters on here but still gets maligned because he got cut.
