Has no idea what the details are here but Stevo Poulin is no longer on the roster at NC State. Could be something worth keeping an eye on.

He was a top 10 recrui who I believe PS had interest in at the time. He seemed to have an NC State connection, which is why he went there. I believe he visited PS too. I assume he is still a 125lber. Interesting he isn't on their roster and not in the transfer portal yet. I guess we will stay tuned...

It was either PSU or NCST. The club he wrestled out of is run by Coach Pop's brother.

Clay, you're around these guys a lot. Doesn't Robbie seem pretty small for a 133? He is not a big dude. Yet, he is often mentioned when talking about 133.
I think he can be a career 125 if need be, but wouldn’t struggle at 133. He’s not as big as Hildebrandt but not as small as Heinselman, if that makes sense.

Agreed, though he needs additional size/strength for Fix and Bouzakis. So I suspect his ceiling is a little lower there.

But if Cael asks him to go 133, he'll run thru a wall to do it. (And Cael will have his hands full trying to limit Howard's workload ... like he did with Nico among others.)

To bad we couldn't get the 8th Grade version of Stevo!

Mostly kidding but to some he was the next Spencer back then (aka Adam Busiello). I haven't paid to much attention but I thought his most recent performances were not world beating. He is listed as 6-0, so maybe it was a few pre-college level bouts I am misremembering.

Where do folks see him in comparison to Steen, I would think slightly better?

His other finalists were Lehigh, Ohio State, and OKST.

The Recruiting National Champs make a lot of sense if Poulin is willing to sit a year (which he'd also likely have to do at PSU). Heinselman is a JR and they really don't have a next guy.

Lehigh makes a lot less sense, and OKST none at all.

As I. recall, Poulin was much higher rated (top 10 P4P) coming out of high school than Steen. Steen was considered a decent prospect, but not elite by any stretch. TIFWIW.

The hype slowed a bit but he was a top 3 kid at his weight for most of his high school career. Think he’s a fair bit ahead of Steen for sure.

Does anyone know why he’s leaving? Concerns me a bit that he’s leaving less than a year in. Given what we know about the overbearing parent situation. Is the flameout happening already?

Nice -So he comes with a water bong and his medicinal card ?
That’s just what all the top
Big 10 programs are looking for.

I would imagine he can’t beat out Camacho who has 2 more years left. Kid probably doesn’t want to sit for 2 more years is my guess as to why he’s leaving.
