Same writing/directing team that did "The Queen" with Helen Mirren about the crisis surrounding the royal family after the death of Princess Diana. I really enjoyed the first season though I'm not sure Elizabeth II is interesting enough to warrant the 6 seasons or whatever they're planning. Elizabeth I maybe.
Anyway, Claire Foy was terrific as Anne Boleyn in Wolf Hall, a mini-series about Henry VIII's consigliere Thomas Cromwell (Damien Lewis as Henry, Mark Rylance as Cromwell). Based on Hilary Mantel's novels. One of the best things on TV the last couple of years.I think it's streamable via Amazon if you missed it. It's dense, dark and complex -- great way to help you through the winter if you haven't seen it.
