Watched Multiplicity last night and noticed Michael Keaton rocking an old school Penn State hat. Then I started to think of other movies that PSU was referenced or shown in. We all know "Rudy" was one but only others that came to mind were, "Friday Night Lights" and "Necessary Roughness"

Anyone know of anymore?

There is a bar scene in "Jumper" in which the TV in the background appears to be playing a PSU vs Michigan game.

BTW, shortly after this whole thing started there were reports (rumor?) on this board that a movie about Paterno and the JS saga starring Al Pacino was in the works. What became of this?

IIRC, in the first Lethal Weapon it looked like us playing Pitt.

Friday night lights clearly used the chipmunk logo as the team mascot.

There's a Robert Redford movie where he is held hostage in the woods. His character is a Penn State graduate from Altoona.

Tina Fey trashes the car of her ex-boyfriend in Baby Mama. The car has PSU stickers on it.

Then there's the obnoxious recruiters from Penn State and Alabama in Johnny B Good.

And here's a link from PSU.

You have to have approval to show a PSU logo (no surprise--it's gotten to be big business).

I also never knew that the Hulk's alter ego, Bruce Banner was supposed to be a PSU grad.

All the Right Moves with Tom Cruise. His bedroom had PSU banners and posters.

Suspended production in 2014, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Thanks.
Had no idea about Bruce Banner.

There was a movie years ago called The Paper in which two kids are at first accused of murder. One of the kids is said to have a football scholarship offer to Penn State. In the end, evidence shows they didn't do it and the newspaper is released with the proper headline. A somewhat ironic turn of events given the Penn State Football connection. For even more irony, a character in the film is named Sandusky.

Peyton Place in 1957 had the main male character mention in his job interview that he went to PS. As an aside, I think that this may have been the first movie to use the word *abortion*

Semi-related, but the Comcast commercials for X1 they are playing during the Olympics show what appears to be a PSU-Notre Dame game with their scoring widget on the right side of the screen showing ND leading (as well as other games). Is that a real game or just made up for the commercial?

The Crush, with Alicia Silverstone and Cary Elwes......Elwes, looking for an apartment as character Nick Eliot, shows up sporting a Penn State t-shirt.

Of course, the original Rambo was actually set by the writer in the Seven Mountains area near State College (but called North Carolina)

Is that the movie that Vicky Triponey was Lithgow's stunt double?

Another Michael Keaton movie!

Gotta look close for this one...

In Forrest Gump, when Forrest is visiting the White House with the All-American Team, there is a short black&white segment with the real JFK at the beginning. JFK is holding a signed football embossed with the words PENN STATE and is also holding a small replica of the Nittany Lion. It's real fast and you have to be looking for it, but its there.

The book First Blood was written by David Morrell who got his masters from Penn State. He was living in Bellefonte and used that as the town the book was set in (although in the book he called it Madison, KY). I read the book in high school then re-read it while living in Bellefonte once I learned that was the setting for the book.

He learned to write under a chap named Philip Klass--aka SF writer William Tenn

When the WwE was at its height in the late 90s Mankind (Mick Foley,Cactus Jack, Dude Love) did an interview from Beaver Stadium. I used to buy coins from a guy broadcasting from Tenneesse and he frequently wore PSU stuff.

Woodlawn

It was. The kitchen scene in the background is a tiny tv, and the 1977 Penn State vs Pitt game is being shown.

Of course, Lethal Weapon came out in 1987, so, obviously, it was a replay.
