i know the Penguins can protect:
a) 7 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goalie or......
b) 8 players total (I don't know why any team would opt for this)
They also DO NOT have to protect players with 2 or less years in pro hockey.
My question: what is included in the area of "2 or less years"? Just time in the NHL? Or does minor league, AHL time count too?
This may be a moot point since the Flower is who we will lose, but I don't want to be shocked if surprisingly we lose a top young kid like Rust, Guetzel, or Sheary.
