Very sad to hear. I’m paraphrasing something I once read about the Peter Green Mac era:
For those that only knew the Rumours Fleetwood Mac, discovering the music from their early years is like learning that your dad was married before and had really beautiful children with his ex.

That’s the article that I paraphrased. I just reread it. Sad ending for a few of the early Mac members.
Green Manalishi is still my favorite Fleetwood Mac song to this day followed by Black Magic Women and Oh Well. This was way before the Buckingham Nicks era. The best lineup of Fleetwood Mac IMO. Guitarists Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer.
Here's a very cool video of early Fleetwood Mac when they were still a British Blues Band. I believe this is with Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Not long after this 1968 video Green was gone (1970) and Spencer joined the Children of God (1970) and Kirwan was booted (1972). This video was probably just a few months after Green, McVie, and Fleetwood left John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers.
