OT: Redskins' Cousins to be the starter for the year.

I started Cousins in my fantasy league last season in the game he kept throwing pick after pick. He was flirting with negative points. Hope he's improved. Couldn't look any worse.

Looks as if they're giving up on RG3, as they probably should. Ah, Cousins is an interception machine, no kidding. Best case scenario: 5-11.

More of a reason for Hack to stay for his sr. year because I really don't want him to go to Washington.
Its not that I don't like them but I can't stand their owner and honestly I think Gruden is in over his head.
I think its going to be a long season for both of us. You as a Washington fan and me as a Steeler fan.
so far from what I've seen from the Steelers they are going to have to win games 48-45.

That franchise is a complete disaster. I listen to a lot of the local sports talk radio (Chad Dukes is my favorite) simply for the entertainment value he and callers provide. I just don't get how Dan Snyder absolutely DOES NOT GET IT.

Lifetime, Cousins has 19 interceptions in 407 pass attempts, RG3 has 23 in 1063. RG3 can't run the offense, but Cousins is not a qb that is going to win games for you. I'd pick Cousins to start, but he's Norm Snead.

RG3 also has 33 fumbles in 37 games (10 lost) over 3 years. Cousins has 6 in 14 (4 lost).

People love to point out the fact that KC is a pick machine, but RG3 puts the ball on the turf.

Other issue is how playcalling changes from RG3 to KC, seemingly totally different schemes fit to each.

Yeah, RG3 can't avoid sacks, gets hit all the time. Whatever. Cousins is the man and the Redskins are going to stink.

I really think RG3 could be decent if he got out of Washington. He was made the franchise savior there Day 1 before even playing, his owner is crazy, and it seems it really took its toll on RG3.

New Orleans would be a good spot for him, sit under Brees for a year and when NO trades Drew he can go to work.

No, he's really pretty bad. He just cannot make reads. Hit the link, just sad.

The clown shoes media down here doesn't help things much either. In what other city would the backup QB get his own weekly radio spot like KC does? They turned awful quick on the guy.

Actually I don't think that is unusual. IIRC Charlie Batch either had a show or was a regular on a show when he was with the Steelers.

Holds onto the ball too long, not good at avoiding hits, not much of a leader.
No doubt both physically and mentally affected by his first injury, and the coach is no doubt happy that the owner has finally accepted reality.
That Hack is considered a top pick shows how rare are the NFL-type QBs in college in the era of the spread offense in college ball.

At least they were smart enough to draft Cousins in the same draft.
The draft picks they gave up and the contract they gave RG3 were really bad though. He is guaranteed 16mill next year if he is injured.

Shanahan took Cousins because he didn't want RGIII. Not his choice.

This has to be the worst run franchise in the NFL by a large margin. When Danny took over there was a 10 year waiting list for season tickets. At the end of last year game tickets were $3.00 on Stubhub. He had to reduce the size of the stadium to allow home games on tv until the league was forced the change the rule.

I have no idea if Cousins can be a serviceable quarterback or not. Just hope he gets a real shot at developing and not have to constantly look over his shoulder if he has a bad game, which he will. Jerking he and Colt back and forth last year did nothing for either's development.

Bobby Griffin is a mega-bust. His own team mates want him gone. Couldn't happen to a more deserving owner.

For the year? You mean to start the season, right? When's the last time a Redskins QB started all 16 games?

If they play him and he gets hurt (spoiler, he would get hurt) he gets a guaranteed 16.1 million bucks. I'm not sure theyd even risk that by playing him.

Smart move is to not play him and cut him...that way he can't be injured

which lead to the heist of the last century, Norm Snead for Jurg!!! Bet you hope you can pull that off again!!! RGIII for the your next 10 yr starting QB!! Good luck!
