Flag!!!I was at the Y and saw a woman who had to be 90 walking in the fitness center with a cane. As I was working through my routine, I looked up and she was across from me doing curls - now it was just the bar with no added lbs. on it but God bless her for being there. I see a regular crew of seniors there in the mornings and it looks like mostly they are there for the coffee and camaraderie but there's a lot of regulars in the afternoon who are pretty serious about their workouts. Gotta love it.
Hey I make 2 of the 5 [fat AND old] and still go 3 per week. Respect you whippersnappers
Unicorns?#6 People that actually put the weights back when they are done.
Lol, very often the first part of my workout consists of putting the stray dumbbells in their proper places.#6 People that actually put the weights back when they are done.

I just started getting back into weight training after a long time on IR. I had forgotten how some people are complete a-holes - like not putting weights back where they belong, or staking their claim on some piece of equipment for use at a later time - like after they get water and gossip with others. Or don't let people work in with a piece of equipment.
Gyms fall right behind the airport in terms of congregating the low level humanity of the world.
Thats just because you have OCD!Lol, very often the first part of my workout consists of putting the stray dumbbells in their proper places.
LOL, yeah, or dumbbell rows. You have to wonder how they can be so dense. The other people that annoy me are the people that have to do curls standing right in front of the dumbbell rack completely blocking everybody else's access to it. For god's sake, take two steps backwards.
Lol, that's exactly my response to the puzzled looks I get.Thats just because you have OCD!![]()

They've overcome their embarrassment of being in a gym with fitter people. They've decided to make a change. For that, they deserve all the support we can give them.

Give me some time, I'll get back to playing weight eventually. We haven't seen the "after" pic yet.I have mixed feelings about your post step. On the one hand, the reason for it is wonderful and is to be applauded. On the other hand, well..... I can never unsee that photo.![]()
