That said, CR7s goal was pretty sweet. Buffon has just made a great save and then that happened

Ronaldo wasn't punched in the ribs either.
Rocky turned out to be a good goalie.
There were some really good players in that movie including the late, great Kaz Deyna, who died way too young in a car crash in San Diego. And, as I recall, Werner Roth of the Cosmos played the German captain.Ronaldo wasn't punched in the ribs either.

Scoring on a bike kick was one of the two things I was never able to do as a player in a game (the other being a diving header). I also was smart enough never to have tried it as I probably would have broken my neck (the few times I had a chance at a diving header, I missed the goal with my shot). And yes, that means I *did* score directly from a corner kick in my career.
" 'atch! If we leave now, we lose more than a game"
Vastly underrated film.
Good movie. Max von Sydow is a brilliant actor. Good cast in the film. Rocky, von Sydow, Pele, Michael Caine.
according to Wikipedia, here's the full list of footballers in the film:
Pelé as Corporal Luis Fernandez
Bobby Moore as Terry Brady
John Wark as Arthur Hayes
Osvaldo Ardiles as Carlos Rey
Kazimierz Deyna as Paul Wolchek
Søren Lindsted as Erik Ball
Paul Van Himst as Michel Fileu
Werner Roth as Baumann (German Team Captain)
Mike Summerbee as Sid 'Buzzer' Harmor
Hallvar Thoresen as Gunnar Hilsson
Russell Osman as Doug Clure
Kevin O'Callaghan as Tony Lewis
Co Prins as Pieter van Beck
Laurie Sivell as Schmidt (German Goalkeeper)
Robin Turner as German Player
Kevin Beattie as stand-in for Michael Caine
Paul Cooper as stand-in for Sylvester Stallone
They should have gotten Doug McClure to play Doug Clure. Missed opportunity.
I liked the Goalie's reaction, or lack of a reaction. He did not even break toward the ball. It seems like he just said "Amazing Kick; You deserve that one brother"
love Von Sydow as the least dickish Nazi in film history
