what a story - my favorite rock band at least through the Kath years. I kind of detest what they did after but understand that it's a business and they changed/sold out accordingly.

Nevertheless, the documentary tells the story and I learned many things I did not know before.

Special shout out to Chicago VII - one of greatest albums ever recorded.

Check it out............

I agree. Great band. I was really interested in the part about the drummer, Danny Seraphine.
They dumped him several years ago. I thought it was rough,
But they were all consistent in their reasoning.

I missed the first 30 minutes. Did they cover the story behind the first album well?

Yes, but not in the detail one would like - it was only a 2 hr. show. It did show how they evolved into what became CTA. Snippet about Janis Joplin was funny.

The time they spent at Caribou ranch looked awesome but had destructive effects. Guercio really screwed them over big time...surprised no one killed him.

David Foster seemed like a pompous, arrogant asshole - never knew much about him because I "left" Chicago by then.

Will have to look for this documentary. Big fan of them pre-Kath's death. After that, not so much.

"Wishing You Were Here" and the first three minutes or so of "Dialogue 1 & 2" are tremendous.

I DVR'd and just watched it.
Great documentary.
I learned a few things.

(1) the Peter Cetera departure was what I thought it was. He thought he was bigger than the band.

(2) the Danny Seraphine firing was discussed pretty consistently from all sides.

(3) the lack of discussion on Bill Champlin speaks volumes on how acrimonious it was.

It was my hope Pete would get with them at HOF, but there is too much to overcome for any reunion.

I think Danny would just like to be friends with these guys again.
