Which has completed its scheduled theatrical run but made sufficient money that (I suspect) you'll have another opportunity to catch it if you haven't.
And IMHO given the opportunity you should catch it, because it's a truly amazing piece.
Same. And loved it, although I didn’t stay for the extra st the end. Regretted it after the fact.

That, my friend, is guaranteed!I am hopeful it goes to Netflix or Amazon.
FWIW I *highly* recommend the theatrical experience of this piece.I am hopeful it goes to Netflix or Amazon.

Just curious if you saw it in 3-D or standard format? And if you think it had a significant impact on the viewing in experience?
I saw it in 3D. It was remarkable. It really made the experience come to life - at times it was like you were watching the war take place from a few feet away. I felt at times like I was there watching the war but somehow removed from it, like I was behind a wall of glass or some other such barrier. It’s hard to explain.
I live in MD and every theatre I checked was sold out for every show time. Hope that means they bring it back for at least one more tour.
Thanks for the post.

I think it will but you’ll miss out on the 3D experience, which really made the footage come to life.
Totally agree. Very remarkable experience seeing it on a large screen and 3D. I'm usually not a big fan of 3D effect in movies, but this was done well and obviously no gimmicky filming to overemphasize the 3D. It just gives it a depth and perspective that makes it seem even more real. I took my kids (22 & 18) and they both really liked it. I liked and understand the rationale for only using the interviews with former soldiers as the narration, but it does lose some of the perspective on the particular events if you don't already know the history. For example, there is fairly well-known footage of a company of the Lancashire Fusiliers sitting in a sunken road just before attacking the German lines on the first day of the Somme:I think it will but you’ll miss out on the 3D experience, which really made the footage come to life.
How did you hear about it? I only heard about it yesterday, the day of the showing, when they interviewed the director on DC Fox 5 and they mentioned it was already sold out arount here.I live in MD and every theatre I checked was sold out for every show time. Thanks for the post.
I saw it posted on this board after someone saw it on Dec 17. I got lucky that a theater in my area sold out two shows yesterday and added two more. How did you hear about it? This is where I saw it, too.I saw it posted on this board after someone saw it on Dec 17. I got lucky that a theater in my area sold out two shows yesterday and added two more.
Dunkirk was bad, wasn't it. Was so hard to follow and the "score" played loudly then entire film. If you didn't know the story ahead of time it wouldn't have made sense at all. Just my humble opinion.Every movie is garbage then they put out a good one and it's a limited engagement. No wonder I've only seen star wars and blade runner in the last few years. And Dunkirk which was disappointing and louder than the Who in 1975.

This guy says that if it’s too loud, you’re too old.And I'm a nut who listens to music WAY too loud every day.
LOL, I really anticipated this film until a work colleague gave me his review. Thanks for the laugh!louder than the Who in 1975.

Agree. Dunkirk's plane video was awesome. I also enjoyed the bombs landing on the beaches. Opening scene was pretty good. Other than that, not a ton of greatness.I wasn't a huge fan of Dunkirk and I like war movies. Just didn't do much for me. I would say it was average. I look at that as a movie that could have been really good if it had a little more going for it as it just wasn't that exciting to me in the end.
Took in a 3D showing last night. Extremely well done. As others stated, @ times you felt you were right there.

I went to see the movie as well. I saw it in 3D........although I'm not sure my eyes work with 3D. The movie certainly makes you take stock of what courage truly is, while realizing how comfortable our life is today. The movie, to me, showed how resilient mankind can be ......the way so many accepted what was in front of them and continued to push forward. Seeing and hearing about the artillery and what the soldiers experiences were like with the Germans they encountered were highlights for me.Just saw this incredible film. My God. It was brutal, riveting....brilliant in every way. My wife covered her eyes a number of times but I could not turn away. Anything I say will not do it justice. If you have an opportunity to see it, don't pass it up. See it in a theater if you can to get the full effect, and stay to watch the extra half hour of how it was done. Absolutely one of the best films I have ever seen.
I was in the Army but never saw combat. I've talked with those who have been under fire and they speak of that special bond that joins them to the others in their unit. Seeing this film helps bring home what they are talking about. Facing death with another truly does make you brothers.I went to see the movie as well.
