I never have a problem with people trying to comeback well past their prime--it just means they truly miss the sport

Shame how people cannot move on. They miss the adrenaline rush, the attention, the comradery with fellow competitors. Some miss the media attention, the adoring fans, the groupies and entourage.

As Chuck Knoll always said being a sports athlete is a temporary gig, you need to know when it’s time to move on to your life’s work.

I didn't say I had a problem with it. I didn't even imply that. You just need to be a contrarian about everything.

More power to her but it is very problematic that she can succeed at 40 in ski racing. Sadly it's more likely she will be injured again. Your brain says one thing but your body frequently says something else. Her competitive mindset that helped her be a champion won't let her back down so injury becomes more likely.

Good luck to her I hope she succeeds.

Drama queen. I’m afraid she’ll end up in a catch fence seriously injured pretty soon.

Alpine skiing, especially the speed events, punish mistakes, carelessness, and lack of fitness severely.

This isn’t like a golfer or basketball player giving it another shot.
