Saw the last three innings. Amazing. Congrats!Down to our last strike and the first walk off of the streak.
History being made like this is as exciting as a pennant race. I'd say this is more memorable. Baseball without doubt is the hardest sport to maintain a winning streak of this duration.pretty amazing game. First time in the entire streak that Cleveland had trailed in a game in the 7th inning or later.
So they tie the game with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, and then win it in the bottom of the 10th.
Cleveland's been so dominant during the streak that in many ways this is a more impressive win.
Usually, the joy of baseball in September is in pennant races, but the Indians (and to lesser extent the Dodgers, going in the other direction) have added quite an interesting dynamic this September.
Yeah, it's been a pretty boring year. The Nationals became a sure thing to win the division in May and since then it's been all about them trying to stay healthy. Nice year for Tribe fans.pretty amazing game. First time in the entire streak that Cleveland had trailed in a game in the 7th inning or later.

Well, the Indians have really underachieved through the meat of the season. They were barely above .500 at the all star break and then lost what, 5 of 6 coming out of that break? Then, all heck broke lose and they are the best team in baseball right now.Streak has been awesome. It's a shame Indians fans don't show better support. Coming off a World Series appearance, maybe the best team in baseball, longest win streak in history, and their attendance is around 24th, same as a blah Pirates team.
I don't get what happened, Indians fans used to pack that place every night, now it doesn't matter how good they are, the average crowds are awful.

They packed the place back when the Browns were gone, the owner actually spent money on players and the Cavs stunk. The Dolan's were not spending money and that made a lot of people unhappy. Fortunately he has decided to spend money this year and look at the results. The attendance this year is better than last year and this weekend I believe is sold out or close to it, which typically wouldn't happen in previous years. So, the owner not spending money on the team, the Browns return and the Cavs winning, people have had to make decisions on how to spend their money.
I was unaware of this, but I did notice many open seats last night. Thought it strange for such a potentially historic game.I was thinking the Cavs are the likeliest culprit. 41 Cavs games + 81 Indians games is 1/3 of the year, so I get people choosing. And when Lebron is an option, kind of hard not to choose that.
I hadn't thought about the Browns being gone. Though the Indians sold out the year before the Browns left and the first 2 years after they returned as well.
Still, I'm surprised they don't get more support. Pittsburgh is a similar sized city with similar per capita incomes and has had a very mediocre team for two straight seasons. They have a perfect equivalent to the Cavs & Lebron/Kyrie (Penguins & Crosby/Malkin), and a much better NFL team. Yet attendance is essentially the same for the Pirates and Indians.
When the Pirates won 98 games in 2015, they averaged 31,000, or approximately 7,000 more per game than the Indians are this year. The Indians payroll is also 19th, respectable for a smaller market team, and better than the Pirates ever were. So I'm still not seeing a good rationale for why it's so low.

Through the 9/14 game, the Tribe's home attendance is up 398,573 over last season, or an average of 5,536 more attendees per game. Only the Atlanta Braves have a larger increase in attendance this season (509,493 over last year, and 7,076 more attendees per game).
Fair, but even with the increase the question is why is it still so low when compared with similar markets that have similar alternative options.
I've seen that TV ratings for the Indians are great, so it's not a lack of interest. I've been to Jacobs Field this year, it's a great place to watch a game. Just don't quite get it.
Cold spring and Indians were a .500 ball club this year until right after the all star break.
Seriously, the team was in the World Series last year. If that can't get fans to buy tickets before the season, what will? Lame.Well, the Indians have really underachieved through the meat of the season. They were barely above .500 at the all star break and then lost what, 5 of 6 coming out of that break? And, they've done it despite some very challenging injuries: Miller, Brantley, Zimmer.... Pitching has been off the charts with a team ERA under 1.7 during the streak. In addition to that, team is the first team pitching staff in MLB history to average over 10 SO per game over the season.
and the streak is over, as the Tribe falls 4-3
