Is the cup a "total" sports thing, or is it a separate cup, one for womens sports and one for mens?

When was the last time we were in the final 4?

We were a powerhouse in the 80s. We won five championships between 1978-89 and were runners-up twice. We decline a bit in the 90s but still made the Final Four three times. Since then we just haven't been able to get past the quarterfinals.

It's the Learfield Director's Cup (hasn't been the Sears thing for almost 15 years) and it combines men's and women's sports.

Get ready, UNC is very physical. Lots of women from SEPA & NJ on the UNC roster.

Will be a very tough match. UNC has only lost 2 matches all year (15-16 to Florida, and 7-8 to Maryland). There other close matches were 11-10, OT win over UVA, 9-8, OT win over Northwestern, 13-12 win over Boston College, 12-11 win over Syracuse, 7-6 win over Duke, and 15-14, OT win over Syracuse. You could say that they have a lot of squeakers, or you could say that they have found a way to win quite a few games by narrow margins over some of the best teams in the country.

PSU's D was championship level today. Penn's top 3 point scorers were held scoreless on the day by Emi in goal and the PSU D. In addition, Penn scored 2 early goals, but then PSU held them scoreless for 27:32, which is an eternity in college WLAX.

While there are exceptions, you don't expect an easy match in the Final Four.

BTW, Ned, how did your daughter's team do in the playoffs? I haven't checked results online, but I believe the MD semis were Fri/Sat of this week.
