Our Lineup Now

I am very excited to see how the time in the PSU room impacts Keener ... i believe he is a very legit shot to AA.

I just watched his match at Nationals vs the kid from Lock Haven, I'll try to find it and post it.

So let's assume Suriano had an 80% scholarship. How are you dividing up the extra funds for this year?

Rasheed .2 bump. He could have easily left, but the dude keeps sticking around to battle for a spot. He's just one of a couple depth guys (besides redshirts) who could make a run at nationals, if needed.

5 champs- .1 bump

125 starter- .1 bump

I'm making up a rumor about Bresser being unhappy at Oregon St. and looking to transfer.

your clearly not a journalist, so trafficing in rumors is something that is acceptable. Do it and do it well.

while your at it, put the word out that teske is coming for an official in sept.

Here are the top returning finishers that we need to work on:

1. Darian Cruz: In state tuition. Team Championship added to his 125 Championship.
2. Ethan Lizak: In state tuition. Little thing like BIG10 transfer rules don't count for non revenue sports. Ask Rutgres
3. Zeke Moisey: I believe in state tuition, right? D11 or was that his brother. Best chance for team and individual championship. 2 years left and McHenry slips right in
4. Nick Piccininni: may get squeezed out at OSU (?). Team Championship

Others:
Jack Mueller, UVa
Ryan Milhoff, ASU
Sean Russell, Edinboro (need to use our other in state schools as feeders since it looks like non conference, pre grad transfers are here to stay)

better not use Milhoff, that would cost him a year as is second transfer-unless he graduates first and he used his redshirt last year.

Oh, that is right. But, if we can get a waiver from Zeke and Lou, and take it to the NCAA, there is a great chance they'll approve it. I read that on NJwhywouldyoulivethere.com and on the Rutgres board.

But, you OK with with us changing a Nick S for a Nick P? You certainly are an adopted NittanyLion

naw, we'll keep Nikki Picc-he is a good kid, with non-troubled parents. I think we can make them all fit. Petition is in to add a weight. 124-130-136-142-149..

Damn you and your logic and rule following and what not!!!!!
We always follow the rules (well, except for that Joe Seay era:oops:).

Funny story-I thought I had John talked into using a couple of the coaches in our local HS booster club tourney. Was looking good, until the compliance office heard of it-they shut that down really quick. Apparently playing in a HS booster club golf tourney could be a recruiting advantage, according to NCAA rules. Although the closest we have to someone recruitable is probably someone who could be the equipment manager or something like that.

So, who with knowledge of the rules can explain the possibility of a January transfer ?

Is it in the cards for PSU to attract a NCAA qualifier type at 125 as a January transfer?

I am thinking that a healthy Cortez could really turn some heads this season, with a move to 141, and having a Nick Lee to go with in practice will certainly help. It's sort of flying under the radar with this whole soap opera, but Cortez may be ready to break out this year!

The roster shows Cortez at 133/141. I don't know if that means he certified at 133, but at least someone in the wrestling office is thinking 133 could happen.

I've got to believe that if Nick Lee goes, and wins 141, Cortez will make the cut.

IMO, Suriano's departure makes the above scenario a more likely possibility. Next year Nick bumps to 149 and Jared gets his wish to wrestle 141.

That would mean Keener transferred to ride the bench if he can't make 125... that's pretty rough ...

PSU is real bad about updating the roster -- Cenzo was still listed at 149 before last week's update.

I'd assume 133/141 is Cortez's listing from last year and not read anything more into it in any direction.

Yeah, but things have changed since he transferred. 2 months ago he looked to be a perfect fit. Any points he could give us at 133 seemed like gravy.

Now, with Suriano gone, and tOSU solidifying their line-up, Cael might be looking add a little more fire power at the lower weights.
